No offense, but those add-ons do not increase NADA value. If anything, they subtract as OEM stock fresh with low miles is a more requested than normal deal. Again, the fork kit is $500 new installed, the shock can be had for $500 used. The value you are asking for those items is off base. I'd say the way it sits, $6500 is a fair value. Remember, Heli-bars and stuff like that are not worth anything as nothing was wrong with the OEM stuff... The exhaust is the same thing... If I found an RC with stock everything and lower miles, it would actually be worth more than your bike sits now. You COULD argue the fork kit and shock, but in reality, that's a grand if I look hard enough. Meaning, a good low miled RC51 is going to pull $4500-$5500 and most likely will have an exhaust unfortunately. You can ask about $1k more and be able to be in the realistic realm. Don't go by what is advertised in Cycle Trader... Dealers either. Remember one thing about dealers - they are selling to make money and list based on a margin they are trying to get. Typically, they have a TON of room on used bikes as they do not give much on trades... Again, $6500-$7k maybe all day for your bike...

Not even close to being the same bike. The Super Chicken was nothing near the bike the RC was. That being said, the only thing remotely worth an increase in price is the suspension. But, ohlins 20mm can be had for about $500 brand new. Used Penske is maybe $500 for that bike. Exhaust and everything else doesn't add a penny in value. People think it does, but isn't an increase in value. GLWS for sure, but that's way too high.

When you are a paid professional, you cannot miss qualifying for partying too much the night before. You also need to act professionally even when partying. Partying is fine. Getting drunk and going overboard numerous times is to the point that the results of such behavior becomes something sponsors do not want to be a part of... Danny is awesome and a great kid. Fast, too. But, unfortunately, there are numerous others great kids that can replace him... Think Gobert. Amazing talent that was at a level beyond even Danny. His issues are well documented, but I remember a few times when we were doing stuff with him that he missed a ton of things and was usually half baked when at the track or festivities... You can only do that so often before it catches up with you...

For drag racing, I'd make the trek to Broc's performance... He is the drag god around these parts and actually well regarded almost anywhere I have ever been when referring drag racing... He's in the Dayton area and what? An hour or so from CBus?

Are There Any Suspension Tuning Clinics Offered?
Moto-Brian replied to wantahertzdonut's topic in Track is Crack
Hey now! -
First, don't even MENTION track/race for a bike. If it is a clear title, just insure it for full coverage or whatever you want to insure it for. If you crash it at a track day, it is a school or learning environment and would be covered. Typically, the track days will send or write up a letter and state these facts. If you crash when racing, well... You'll need to get creative is all I will say. I never insured my bikes. If they ever got stolen at the track, I'd be hosed. At home, it is no different than a dirt bike. Home owners will cover an amount that will never cover what I have in it, but will net me some assistance. Dunno. Probably jinxing myself here, but I would probably consider insuring mine like I used to do, but really not sure how easy it would be to steal a pure race bike as it wouldn't even have a key nor registered. I'd think it would be easy to find or search out, but maybe I am being a little relaxed about it... Used to insure the bikes. When we went to Kawasaki and had 3-4 bikes in the garage at one time, I stopped. But, probably should...

Are There Any Suspension Tuning Clinics Offered?
Moto-Brian replied to wantahertzdonut's topic in Track is Crack
This is your best thing to check on the internet. He is up to date on most current crop bikes. The issue with the book links are the numbers are somewhat dated... Good reads, though. In the end, the best thing you can do is come to a track day at Mid-Ohio and we can give you a baseline idea of what you can do. Or, maybe we can do something where we do a clinic somewhere like Hob's shop or something? Maybe work it with DTM-Brian and he can do some dyno stuff also? Dunno... Anyways, just some ideas. -
Safety Wiring 101 for track day riders...
Moto-Brian replied to Moto-Brian's topic in Track is Crack
Yeah, there's no way a diaper pin is going to allow a front pinch bolt to fall out. Craig - can you verify we can still use these pins on pinch bolts? -

They do not sell the small stuff for the wiring like we use. You need to go to McMaster Carr for that stuff. Or, if you know a guy that works on aircraft... -

Nah, not really worried. After all, it is a van and there is less weight in it since removing a bunch of stuff... However, aesthetics are important and those things look awful on the van...
-
I actually got a set of these. They are SUPER heavy and stick out a ton. I really do not like how they are on the van. They come on all Uhaul vans...
-
Well, yesterday I finished the interior back area inside. I dropped in plywood and used a deck stain in black like I did in my trailer. I have had some great success with the stain versus paint due to it doesn't scratch or knick like paint will. I used the bolts that hold the seat mounts as a way to secure it to the floor of the van. I used E-Track in the rear and will get some Pit Bull removable chocks like I have up front for when hauling more than one bike. I have found with street bikes, they work best going in forward and MX bikes where one goes in forward to the right side and one in backwards and butted up against the rear driver's side door. I'll do a chock to keep it off the door, though. Ran some E-Track on the step into the van for the right side if hauling two bikes side by side. I have a truck bed mat that will be laid over the wood and will allow for sound deadening and act as a cushion when working in the back also. The next step is a buddy in Cincy that we have a design to use a removable brace system to butt wheels of bikes into and has fixed ancor sports on the cross member. We are also going to design and weld a tool box system that allows the box to swing out the back of the van and be used while in the pits. When done, will swing back in and lock against the inside wall. A few other things where you can haul helmets and such that will be stored on the side walls. We want to create a few things for vans specific as many MX riders and a few road race guys run vans solely without trailers. Inside as it sits:

I also have a perfect jug for the bike also. Just in case you wanna "bump it up" a bit... Anyways, make some offers before Ebay and C/L...

After seeing this video... That engine sound, the up and downshifts. Holy shit balls!! http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=47394

You'd prefer the 07/08 1000 over the 05/06. The handling alone is worth the step up. Then, to make it a street fighter would be baller as Suzuki is coming out with a version of that essentially this year. I'd say you'd probably enjoy the Speed Triple as it is already pretty much set up for what you are looking for. The GSXR would look trick, though if converted...
