  1. Okay, I take it back. 848cc V8? why? 100 horsepower? The torque numbers better have been re-freakin-diculous; oh wait, the cylinders were 1/4 of the size of a Ducati 848's... Probably not a torque monster either. yikes.
  2. as long as the engine doesn't make it handle like a turd, I'd ride it. it looks "funny" to me, but I wouldn't say "ugly" per se.
  3. ^ I was actually thinking of him when I made the '01-'03 GSX-R crack. An F4i should be much easier to ride than that era Suzuki...
  4. eh, the more I think about it, the more I remind myself that rider skill is the absolute biggest factor. An F4i is going to be down on top-end power by a bit, but that won't matter until you're fighting for podium spots against riders of equal skill, and newer rides. If you take any of the guys standing on top of the box on a regular basis, they would all be fighting for a podium spot with pretty much any bike made after 2000 (although the GSX-R's up to '03 were kind of portly). I'd ride the F4i until it's destroyed. Just resist the urge to sink money into it by trying to upgrade it. at that point you'd be better off just saving for a newer bike, but it still begs the question, "what needs improving? the bike? or the rider?" I've seen '03 R6's turn damn impressive laps, and beat people on bikes 7 years newer...
  5. Great track bike. It will take yuo from beginner to advanced. Being competitive in races will be a tad tougher, but at the novice level, it would be possible.
  6. Pauly, we're a hundred miles north of Ben and Carrie, and get considerably more snow. "adequate" turns into "more adequate" the further south you go. I am probably overly impressed with fwd from years of driving a rwd ranger, but the fact is, I never even got the ranger stuck anywhere other than my driveway. The CR-V is a very good vehicle, but I don't believe the awd option is a worth-while investment in an area that receives HALF as much annual snowfall as Cleveland. (citing my stat http://lwf.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/climate/online/ccd/snowfall.html)
  7. I'm not saying there aren't advantages, but the loss in economy trumps them in all but the rarest situations. furthermore, your CR-V is not built for the same purposes as an Audi, BMW (which strongly favors rwd anyway) or Porsche. Why would it be equipped in the same manner?
  8. for a Moto GP event, I have no idea. But the difference between a Malaysian EMT and an American EMT could be apples and oranges too...
  9. I would like to think that properly trained paramedics would have acted more slowly and deliberately, and not dropped him, but yeah... I read that Marco died 45 minutes after the crash, but I am sure he was beyond repair pretty much the moment his helmet came off. Some other forums have been attacking Marco's AVG helmet, and how the strap broke. Frankly, I have to believe the "failure" of the strap was a calculated force on AVG's part. If the strap hadn't broken, Marco's neck would have. Sad situation all around. The guy who wrote the article was being controversial to get attention, but he's not wrong. The safety staff could and should be trained better.
  10. I have always found that "logic" to be pretty ridiculous. Pay a lot more money for a feature that you only need maybe once a year in Columbus... decent ground clearance, fwd, and tires with decent tread on them will do just fine in 98% of snowy conditions. Once you're moving, awd just means that you can lose traction by spinning all four wheels instead of only the drive wheels. drivers all over the country get a false sense of confidence from awd/4wd every winter, and the result is more severe accidents, or getting stuck much further into conditions they had no business driving in in the first place... Carrie is smarter than that. I would be surprised if she wouldn't reconsider.
  11. I don't blame you, but I currently work for the government, and I just interviewed with the Cleveland Bar Association so that they could confirm the information provided in the 110 page background check I completed last year... As far as risky buyers go, I am at the absolute bottom of the list You going to be around this weekend?
  12. because purchasing a firearm draws more scrutiny from the wife than trading for one. Plus the TRS is a nice thing to be able to throw in with the bike "package," so as noted, I'm not wild about selling it. I have every intention of having a bike again in the next few years.
  13. there's nowhere near enough damage to rationalize parting it out. I'd spend months disassembling and shipping. Much easier just to fix it up and sell it in the spring as a complete bike. if you want to trade me your bike plus some cash, or we can talk about trading some of my aftermarket parts for your stock equivalents plus cash, I'd listen. But at no time do I want to have any less of a complete bike in my garage than I already have.
  14. bumping it up. leaning toward just fixing it up and re-posting in the spring. last chance to buy at $2500.
  15. The pins will fit '03-'06 for sure. Beyond that, I don't know. Not looking to separate the TRS for cash. I'd honestly prefer to keep it, but i'll let it go WITH THE BIKE for now. If I decide to "part" that out, I'll post up accordingly. Jbot - if you have a 12 gauge pump (870, mossberg 500, or some other popular model, I'd be willing to discuss trades for the full setup with pins)
  16. ^ I was gonna post something comparable snarky about cruiser riders' fear of front brake use. Rear brake failure shouldn't be a problem at all. It would be something I'd notice, and put on my to-do list, but hardly anything that would keep me from riding. The brake light is more important than the actual rear brake.
  17. we're splitting hairs. I didn't mean to be a dick about it. What a dog costs, and what a dog is WORTH are totally different. The latter is highly subjective. My dog cost us $150 to adopt, but I'd be offering a $1,000 reward if he was taken too... What's rough here is the lack of info to go on. white 4-door w/o a plate doesn't narrow it down a whole lot.
  18. would she be shady enough to steal the dog back and try to re-sell it?
  19. English bulldogs can run over $2,000 if they're registered with the AKC.
  20. My grandmother was giving my cousin a hard time for carrying at his sister's wedding reception he did lock it in his car before he started drinking, but I remember my grandmother asking why he needed it. He simply told her, "if you always carry an umbrella, you never get rained on."
  21. i don't care what kind of dog it is, I'd be beyond pissed if someone stole my pup. He cannot be replaced. Period. I won't be one of those melodramatic dog owners who says, "it's like losing a child," but losing a pet is losing a member of the family. I hope this trash is caught. The fact that it's an expensive dog isn't even what pisses me off...
  22. Reposted from my friends at Secondhand Mutts, who received word from the Capital Area Human Society in Columbus. My husband and I are reaching out to you. Monday evening at 6 PM, still daylight, a Caucasian male and female with black ski masks, driving a white four door car with no license plate broke into our home specifically to steal our English bulldog puppy "Maebull". They broke in 10 minutes after we left and had to be watching us.We live on Bryden road in Old Town East downtown Columbus. The cops responded but were too late. A police report has been filed and unfortunately there is not a lot of evidence to catch these people. Our neighbor witnessed the people leaving with our puppy and laptop and he called 911.We are newlyweds and have only had Maebull for 2 weeks. In this short time she has been the love of our lives and part of our family. We are broken. We need your help to get our story to the Columbus people. Maebull is 3 months old, 18lbs, fawn color with a black patch over her right eye. We are giving a reward of $1000 for her return home. We are running out of options to find her. We would appreciate your help getting Maebull home. Attached are pictures and we would be happy to be interviewed. Please call us with any information or questions Thank you for your time, Brandon and Tiffany Ross Contact info: 614-226-6188 216-536-3818 email rossrdh@gmail.com ross.brandon34@yahoo.com
