  1. 2.5 miles one-way But before I got my house, I was driving from Mansfield to Elyria for three months (65 miles one-way - about 1:15 commute time), plus working out every night, and trying to get house shopping in. I was up at 6:15AM to be to work by 8AM and I wasn't returning "home" to Mansfield until 8-9PM each night. Not to mention the cost of gas...my parents temporarily loaned me their Buick so I didn't have to drive my 15mpg truck each day - still was costing me around $350+/mo when I had to fill the tank every 3 days. I guess it all depends on what you feel your time is worth. I put a higher value on my time than my money. Getting to/from work in < 10mins now is AWESOME and well worth my mortgage and living in Elyria, JMHO.
  2. I couldn't find a data sheet on LineX I took what I thought was the "next best thing"
  3. Specific Gravity of Rhino Linings (Polyurethane/polyurea) is listed as 1.06-1.08 g/cc, so for a 1/16" (1.6mm) minimum coating on all the painted surfaces. I have no idea what the actual painted surface area of a bike is (varies anyway), but let's take the dimensions of my SV for instance. Wheelbase = 1435mm Height = 1170mm SWAG'in it... paint covers about 20% of that entire surface area rectangle of wheelbase and height, or about 3357 cm^2. I figure that's a conservative estimate (no? I dunno), but for shits and giggles, double it, to cover the other side (and we'll already count the fender and front fairing into that final number to be even more conservative)...so we're now at 6714 cm^2. Multiply by 0.16 cm of thickness = 1075 cc's multiply that by 1.06 g/cc = 1139g.... yielding approximately 2.5lbs of Rhino Lining on a relatively naked bike. Using the same numbers with paint (Dupont Imron 6000) - lets say you go big with 10 coats at .0025cm/coat, 0.025cm thickness. The paint "theoretically" covers 858 ft^2/gallon (aka 797,108 cm^2/gal), and one gallon weighs 9.54lbs. We have to cover 67,140 cm^2 (10 coats) or 8.4% of that gallon -- or 0.8 lbs of paint. +/- 10% fudge factor for each for my back of the envelope calculations, rounding error, and assumptions... you're still looking at around 3x the weight for Rhino Lining at minimum recommended thickness vs. paint coated overzealously. And that's for a relatively naked bike - if you Rhino-line vs. paint a fully-faired bike, the added weight of the rhino lining will be even greater. Alas, you're right - it's not MotoGP, but added weight is added weight. That's why a Lotus doesn't handle like a Caprice. *Not responsible for inappropriate assumptions or bad calculations. 4. Would it be less gay if you just did it for the lulz? Yea, I didn't think so either
  5. You, sir, drive a hard bargain.
  6. For who!? 'Cuz I'M not open to participating in DP... preggers or not
  7. If by special you mean installing sprockets the size of steamboat paddle wheels , then yes - they are special bikes. Don't worry, I already sensed the sarcasm in your original post - I still felt the need to comment.
  8. I was busy. I don't even consider going out there if the chance of rain is > 20% or it's going to be cold, since I have to ride the bike out there.
  9. That may just be NWS...
  10. Are you related to Jason Mewes?
  11. Gross, don't let your pepperoni nipples touch my beer. And don't get yeast on my pizza.
  12. IBIP. This thread is going down in flames, quick!
  13. Meh. I'm not worried about aero. Cd as measured from the front doesn't hit a lot of what would be "painted" surfaces (part of the nose, the front fender, and a same surface on the side fairing - depending on the bike). Besides, these fly really well, and that's basically the surface you have - just with less uniformity.
  14. My biggest concern/gripe with that whole setup would be the weight penalty that it would come with to do that.
  15. Maybe it's reverse psychology and she actually loves guns so much she's just throwing the bait out for a criminal to bust into her place so she can riddle them with bullets.
  16. Interesting thread... Half of you people have probably paid more in title transfers and sales tax than I have spent on some of my vehicles. Cars (and Bikes) in order: 1987 Buick Park Ave (didn't OWN, but was "given" to me in exchange for being 'errand boy' for my parents) - died; transmission (1987 Honda Hurricane) - sold 1994 Olds Cutlass Supreme Convertible - still own 1989 GMC Jimmy (I put that truck through hell) - sold 2003 Chevrolet S10 ZR2 - still own 1987 Buick Grand National - still own (2003 Suzuki Hayabusa) - still own (2003 Suzuki SV1000S) - still own
  17. I might be riding south that day, but probably not Columbus south. You kids be safe.
  18. If we had to pay for a comedy show this good, it'd be $30+ per seat. They're earning every cent.
  19. Your sister's cute. And she looks 'bendy'
  20. Consider his e-Ass e-Kicked Though I do take offense to "Harrassing her" -- since when was being Facebook friends 'harrassment'? I haven't even so much as "Like"d anything she's posted.
