All you pessimists -- you guys are missing all the benefits of high gas prices. For example,

*The people that can afford to drive, will drive less, leaving the roads open to play street hockey and pickup basketball.

*People will migrate toward cheaper personal transportation, like motorcycles, when they can -- riders unite!

*It keeps the poor people off the road and in public transportation where they belong

*Less gas being used means less taxes for infrastructure and we all want to stick it to the man, right?

*People will be traveling less, so the local tourism industry will be thriving! Staycations FTW!

... there are many other upsides to high gas prices, you just have to think about it. Obviously the most important is separating the 'haves' from the 'have nots'.

Either way, the entertainment factor is dying. I'm a little disappointed that crb didn't fly off the handle since he took the internet serious enough to put me on ignore (and I assume what may likely soon be some other select few) for expressing my opinions because they were different than his.

Lorain man dies following motorcycle accident

AVON — A 21-year-old Lorain man who was taken by LifeFlight after crashing his motorcycle yesterday evening has died. According to Avon police, the man, whose identity is not yet being released, crashed about 7 p.m. on Interstate 90 eastbound west of state Route 83.

Preliminary investigation shows the man lost control of the motorcycle. No other vehicles were involved. The man was taken to the Avon Emergency Care Center then MetroHealth Medical Center.

The road was closed for about an hour, according to Avon police.
