Damn. This is tough. I've had a love/hate for pretty much every vehicle I've owned. Started out loving it and then ended up hating it toward the end of ownership for one reason or another. I think at this point though, probably my previous 2 or 3 vehicles. I had an 04 F150, 99 T/A, and 91 CRX. Sold them because I was getting married. Biggest mistake ever.

We had one for 2 years. Their pee stinks; worse than ammonia. We did not get one from a pet store. Got it from a friend that breeds and shows rabbits. Ours bit us constantly and did not want to cuddle. You have to clean their cage at least twice a week to keep the smell down. If it gets sick, let it go. It's not worth it. Get a dog. Much more enjoyable and easier to take care of.

Picked up a digital converter box yesterday at walmart for $40. Works like a champ. No more audio or video cutting out.
-
Yeah, that is one thing that sucks about having another box to add to the collection. I already have 1 for the receiver and 1 for the tv, so this will make 3 remotes. Having looked for different options, this may be my only and cheapest choice. It's either that or buy a new tv, I guess. And I don't want to be spending that kind of money right now.

I have a 65" DLP in my man-cave that I've had for a few years. I love the picture and want to keep this tv for as long as possible. I cut the cord a while back and just use OTA for the local stuff. I noticed over this weekend that the coax ports are having an issue. The signal cuts out really bad. I am trying to figure out the best and cheapest way to convert the input type. I have component, S-video, and hdmi ports available. About the only thing I have found so far is this: https://www.amazon.com/ViewTV-AT-164-Converter-Recording-Composite/dp/B01M4JYPM2/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&qid=1511796517&sr=8-17&keywords=coax+converter I don't need or want all the extra fancy functions this thing has. I just need something basic. I have read that I could get a vcr to go from coax to component, but I have a feeling the picture will be really bad and I remember doing this years ago and having all kinds of issues getting it to work. Anyone have any other ideas or suggestions to convert coax to a different type of input?

Looking for a new job: 10+ Years of IT Experience
Sully replied to Rally Pat's topic in The Meat Market
Have you signed up on Indeed.com yet? There's tons of IT jobs out there. I'm in the market as well and have applied to several jobs. It's tough out there. I have probably applied to at least 25 the past couple months and have only received a response from 1, which they went with someone else. If you would get a severance package if they were to lay you off, if you love the company and your job that much, I'd stick it out and take the severance. -
I never venture out in the crowds. I'll watch for deals online. I too would like a nicer sound bar/sub for the living room. I have a $200 samsung one and it sucks big floppy donkey dick. Have to crank it all the way up to hear anything. Also would like the Amazon Fire (not stick) for the main tv since the lag is an issue on the stick. Nothing else really comes to mind, unless I could get a deal on my effin property taxes that are due right after christmas!!

Perhaps the ole noggin isn't working quite as well as it used to and I'm getting things crossed, but I thought he said some stuff along those same lines.

Before all the issues with him on CR, I had taken a couple vehicles to him to get work done. He did good work and was fair on price. So, from a business stand-point, I had no issues with him. From a beliefs stand-point... well, GFY!

I haven't yet. I figured I'd just see if I can find some guides or something to see if it's even something I want to tackle. I guess my biggest fear is that the entire center console would have to come out, and I don't know if I really want to do all of that. If it doesn't, then it shouldn't be too difficult to do, with some direction. If I do, I'll let you know. Thanks for the offer!

I have a 2014 Cherokee Limited that my wife drives. A few weeks ago, she spilled coffee in the car. It ran down the shifter area and shorted out part of the circuit board that is part of the shifter assembly. We took it into the dealership to double-check, and sure enough, the shifter assembly needs to be replaced. They want almost $800 to replace it, parts & labor. I'm assuming more than half of that amount is labor. I can't spend that kind of money. The part is on back order and will take several weeks to get in. I know how to remove the shifter knob and lift up the cover around it, but not sure how to completely remove that cover. Does anyone have any step-by-step on replacing the shifter assembly. I have worked on a lot of vehicles over my many years, but just need a bit of direction on replacing the shifter so that I don't break something and make matters worse. Can anyone help with this? Thanks!!

Got back late last night. Nothing ever goes as planned, but it all worked out. We left late on Wednesday, which didn't give us much time to get checked in to the hotel, drive down to UB campus, catch the train to the arena, with 10 minutes to spare before imagine dragons got on stage. After the concert, took the train back to UB, drove back to the hotel after getting misdirected multiple times by google maps. The falls were about a 10 minute walk from the hotel, so we walked down in the cold rain thinking we were going to see the falls lit up at night. It was 1:30am and we were told the lights shut off at 2am. We arrived at the falls before 2, but no lights. Come to find out later, the time was just changed to shut off at 1am. The plan yesterday was to be at the maid of the mist at 10am, opening time. We woke up at 10am. LoL. We got breakfast then went over and rode the boat at the falls. It was much warmer yesterday than Wednesday, so that worked out well. The ride was really neat, and completely recommended for anyone that makes it up that way. Because we woke up late, we opted for a 1/2 day extension on the room. We finally left the hotel around 3pm and went to Anchor Bar for the wings. OMG!! The wings and sauce were amazing. I even brought some home to have for dinner tonight! We left the restaurant just before rush hour, so it took some time to get out of the city, but once we were on 90W, I got in behind a couple cars, put the pedal down and didn't let up. We stopped once at a rest area just before hitting 271S. Ended up getting home at 10:30 last night. I'm not one for much driving, so this was a bit of a challenge for me, but I did alright. Even though things didn't go as planned, hit a few snags here and there, we rolled with the punches and had fun. The best part was seeing the kid excited to be at her very first concert and singing along with them for the songs she knew.

I'm assuming I'm going to hit some tolls on the way up. I've never really driven where I have to pay tolls. When I've traveled for work in the past, the rental car would have the auto pass thing. So, how does that work? Do I need exact change? How much should I expect to pay for tolls?
-
Yeah, I know the taxi ride won’t be cheap but it beats having to find a place to park and I can have a few, maybe several bevvies at the concert and not worry about driving back to the hotel. A taxi is much cheaper than a dui!

She had cross country that morning and was in the circleville pumpkin show parade that night, otherwise we would have been able to make that one.

We're taking the kid to the Imaginary Lizards (Imagine Dragons; I tease her about the name) concert next week in Buffalo. She just turned 13 on Saturday, so this is her bday present. It's at Keybank Center in Buffalo. We're staying at Seneca Resort & Casino for the night. The concert is at 7:30pm on Nov 1st. We're leaving early morning on the 1st and driving up. It's about 5.5 hrs. We plan to get there early enough to do the boat ride in Niagara, get back to the hotel, dry off, get something to eat and go to the concert. We'll probably take a taxi from the hotel to the concert so that we don't have to worry about parking and can be dropped off right in front of the venue. We'll have a few hours the following morning to sight-see or do whatever before we have to drive home. I plan to leave Buffalo no later than 3pm on the 2nd. I'm looking for ideas as to where the get the best grub and other activities with the limited time that we have there. So, what do you recommend?

What kind of stuff are you looking for? I have a bench that inclines, with adjustable height posts, standard barbell with approximately 300 lbs in steel weights. Was planning on listing it on CL for $275, but would go $200 for CR. I can get pics if interested; just PM me your number and I can text them this evening.

It doesn't matter what you drive... If you ain't first, you're last.

I have about 3/4 of an acre that I'd like to put an invisible fence in. I may be ok with just doing about 1/2 of that which would be the back yard, but depends on cost. Anyone have a company to recommend? Can these be purchased and put in yourself? Anything I need to be aware of if I have a company to come out to quote it?

"Clerks" movie reference. Ever since I saw that movie, I have used that word because it pisses people off to no end. And I laugh at how angry it makes them.

To be honest, I thought he had passed on several years ago... Irregardless, he brought a lot of joy into our lives and will never be forgotten. http://www.msn.com/en-us/entertainment/celebrity/hugh-hefner-who-built-playboy-empire-and-embodied-it-dies-at-91/ar-AAsyk02?li=BBnb7Kz
