  1. I'll tell you one thing you probably wouldn't hear if this forum was based out of any other country, is the amount of times the word "freedom" is dropped.
  2. Fuck m8, you're arguing the same thing I already said 2 posts ago.
  3. Well that's what they intend to do, right? Whether they do it well or not is a different story. If they wanted to ban guns from being red because it's a threatening color, fuck it, add pink to the list as well cause we all know pink is really just light-red trying to be independent. Choose your battles, I suppose.
  4. I got invited to the beta a couple months ago on PC. I think I played like 3 rounds and got sick of it. The beta was pretty limited, so hopefully the real deal is more entertaining.
  5. Right. I'm thinking along the line's of preventing modifications to a firearm to make it function as or mimic the functionality of a fully automatic.
  6. The Enterprise thing...I feel meh, whatever. It's not going to accomplish anything. Trump's plan to increase the purchasing age to 21 is the best thing to do. Him wanting to regulate bump stocks...whatever, no one needs those anyway. The left needs to say thank you, we'll take it and shut the fuck up. The right needs to say this is what we're willing to do to help prevent this from happening in the future, then shut the fuck up too. Then if there's another school shooting, we can look at the factors that allowed it to happen and go from there.
  7. Yeah, he's being called a coward. https://www.local10.com/news/parkland-school-shooting/campus-deputy-didnt-enter-building-during-parkland-school-shooting
  8. I feel like I've brought South Africa up too many times in this thread, but it's where I'm from, and shit is happening there that the world tends to overlook, but shouldn't. First thing they did was make it harder for you to own a gun. You have get a license to own a firearm. In order to get a license, you need to prove that you need a gun. That's apparently where a lot of people get denied. https://www.westerncape.gov.za/service/getting-firearm-licence So if you can't get a license, you need to surrender your firearm. Hundreds of thousands of firearms were surrendered. Where do you think these ended up? A lot of them were destroyed, but a lot of them disappeared and ended up on the streets. Then farmers start getting tortured and murdered at an alarming rate. You're 4.5 times more likely to get murdered if you're a farmer compared to non-farmers in SA. http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2017/10/blackmonday-white-farmers-protest-farm-murder-171030191052539.html And as of yesterday, during the new President's State of the Nation speech... https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-02-21/south-africas-brand-new-president-wants-confiscate-land-white-farmers No one saved the farmers in Zimbabwe, no one will save the farmers in SA. This is why you don't give up your arms.
  9. That's right. I do still however think that there should be an age restriction (21). This prevents the person, in this case, under developed minds, from purchasing firearms. Along with stricter background checks. Offtopic: I'd like to see them raise the driving age to 18 while they're in there.
  10. It's up to the parents/mother to decide. Factors might be of the emotional or financial kind.
  11. These are easy. 0 As many as needed. My question is: How much longer are we going to allow people to camp in the left lane going 10+ miles under the speed limit cause they want to be cautious cause it's raining but don't turn their fucking lights on.
  12. What is this "inch" a couple of you started talking about? Besides an outdated unit of measurement, I suppose you mean that you do not see any flaws with the current gun laws and do not want to change anything even if it's for the greater good?
  13. Not as many Chrysler 300C's in there as I would have thought. You know life isn't going the way you hoped when your 2008 Kia Rio with 190k miles gets repo'd.
  14. That's right. Now we've gone full circle and back to how Trump got elected. There's a lot of wasteland in the middle. Also, I wasn't sure if you were going to understand where I was going with the festivals around here, but you nailed it.
  15. Purely on my own personal opinion and what I've seen. There you have it. You drink bud light, your opinion is invalid and Australians are fucking assholes, who cares. No but seriously. It's an observation I have made as someone who wasn't born and raised here. And I realize that I'm coming off a bit anti-american, but I like it here, and would probably never leave and probably raise a child here...unless maybe if an opportunity arises to move to New Zealand. It's gorgeous there and they play the right sports.
  16. Moving them to a 3rd world country is not the answer. The point is that it opened up her eyes. Diverse culture? Shit, have you ever been to any of the cultural festivals around here? Only difference between Oktoberfest and The Irish Festival is how you spell it. Don't get too proud of the standard of living here neither. 2 weeks standard paid vacation and the state of the medical system here is enough to make any other developed nation blush, just to name a few. Don't forget on how we got on this topic in the first place, children being killed when they should be getting an education. Speaking of education. That seems to be another sore point here too.
  17. You're misunderstanding. I do not dislike the young (matter of fact, I think I'm pretty down and jiggy with 'em), I dislike how the young are raised by adult Americans (in general, and mostly by baby boomers). When the baby boomers die off, we will live in a better world, where 60s muscle cars aren't horribly overpriced. Even if I'm not accurately describing the majority of American children, it's a far greater percentage than other nations' children. You, and most people here won't understand it because it's how you are raised, it's American culture. Your most popular beer is Bud light and you think Hershey's is good chocolate for fuck's sake. Well I suppose if you murder a child it will never grow up to harm anyone. So yeah I guess. Children will ruin your life. Vasectomies and abortions for all.
  18. This person gets it. http://theweek.com/articles/703660/moved-kids-america-best-parenting-decision-ive-ever-made
  19. I know that they aren't criminals or shooting up schools. Because from what I've seen, it works. I wouldn't imagine it's easy to hit your own kid, but you do it because it teaches them that there are consequences to negative behavior. Sure you can take away certain privileges, but if that doesn't work? Physical discomfort is something no one wants. Never did I say that you should just go around swinging at your kid first chance you get. That's just the last resort. My original point was that American kids are selfish, spoiled brats and don't have respect for adults or others. Their whole life they're told how wonderful they are, and trophies and rewards for little to no effort. So then when they finally hear the word "No" for the first time, they don't know how to deal and throw a tantrum like the world has never seen before. It's always hard to prove a negative, but if little Timmy grew up getting spanked and doesn't shoot up a school. That's a win in my book. If another kid grows up not ever needing spanked and also doesn't shoot up a school. That's fantastic too.
  20. Well, me and just about everyone I know are living, walking proof that hitting spanking your kids does not cause mental health problems, or alcohol and drug abuse. Quite the opposite actually. Just to quote one of your own articles you shared. So yeah, it's a no brainer that if you over do it, by beating your kid to a pulp that they will develop issues later on.
  21. It has the be the extremes? Either no punishment or beating the shit out of them? Spanking != beating the shit out of them.
  22. Reminds me of the story where Target started mailing coupons to a teenage girl for baby products. Her father got all pissed off at Target for sending a high school girl these things. Long story short, Target figured out that the girl was pregnant before the father did. Google alone knows all the things you mention there about me and much, much more. They already use AI and machine learning to take all this information and offer a service. Not sure how I would feel if I were to purchase a gun and book a flight to Vegas and all of a sudden I hear a knock on the door from the feds because Google alerted them that I'm doing sketchy things.
  23. I too got hit in school. Some teachers were a little more progressive, where they'd give you the option of either getting hit, or they call your parents. I never chose, came across or even heard anyone ever opting for option 2. When we moved here, I heard my mom say multiple times that she was afraid to discipline my little brother in fear of being reported for child abuse. Just like how she never wanted to risk having a pond or pool in her backyard in the States because if some neighbour fell in she could get sued. #Freedom
  24. Kinda. I've noticed in other countries that kids just behave better in general. Out in public or in school is where I've had first hand experience here and in other countries. Here they are taught freedom and how great they are and they can do/be whatever they want to a fault. When I moved here at age 15, I was shocked at how kids spoke to teachers. Never in my life had I heard such disrespect for an adult. I've said it before, and I really feel like having school uniforms, and rules on personal hygiene and upkeep (like not being able to come to school with purple hair) is important for discipline. How many of you here, or your children had to learn to put on a tie and shine their shoes in first grade? I know 2nd graders here who don't even know how to tie their fucking shoes, but they boss their parents around and get their way. South Africa has some of if not the highest crime rate in the world, yet I don't even think there has ever been a school shooting there? How is this possible? There is a cultural problem here. It's not just one thing, it's a bunch of little things that might not seem like it could be related, but I think it all adds up.
