Comments like this just shows what a sad state we're in. The leader of our nation gets praised for rehearsing his speech, like a child I really liked that he was able to tie his shoes by himself and that he didn't pick his nose on stage.

Unemployment is at an all time low, hopefully it will offset what we're losing. I just have a hard time seeing that. I read somewhere that in the last 2 years unemployment shrunk by less than 1%, with teenage unemployment shrinking way more than any other group, which caused the drop. I'm open to be proven wrong here. It's one thing that pisses me off. Religion has no place anywhere IMO, especially not politics. Religion is what drives some/most of the dumbest decisions ever made in history. It's old, outdated, made up fairy tales that people use to control others.

I liked that me mentioned fixing our infrastructure, and he said a couple other things that I agreed with. Problem is that it costs money, and now that we're paying less taxes, not sure how it will get funded. Sounds like commie talk to me. Oh, and when he emphasized "in god we trust" and Paul Ryan pointed up to the sky, it boiled my blood a little.

Lol, so true. I'm always making sure it's not a cop when I see one of those. -
Exactly. In this case (as I just learned), the Indians were originally called the Blues, and when they did change their name to the Indians, the original logo was a block C. Growing up in South Africa, we went through A LOT of sports logo changes in the 90s. Not because the logos were racist, but the ANC government felt that it was associated with the white government. For the most part, people were ok with the logo changes on the domestic sport teams and got use to the new team names and logos very quickly. Totally different story when it came to the national rugby team logo however, since it was a matter of national pride, and that logo exists to this day. If Mandela didn't have the foresight to keep that one logo, it could have been the last straw that sparked civil war. Instead, it united the country. The movie Invictus touches on it briefly. But Mandela is dead now, and the new so called leaders have forgotten all that, talks about removing that logo comes up to this day, and white people are slaughtered in a scale that some have called genocide, with little to no press coverage...but that's a different story. The Indians logo isn't a matter of national pride, so we don't need to worry about that, but the significance of sporting logos shouldn't be dismissed too quickly.

They have confirmed a new logo? Can someone please share it? I can't seem to find it.

I don't align myself with any political party, and both sides certainly have some nutters that make their party look bad...but there's a special kind of stupid, nonsensical and contradictory behavior that can be found in the Republican side. Good lord! Curious to see what their reaction would be if the "G" in 5G stood for Government. Would it be "OMG GOVERMENT IS BAD" or would it be "OMG TRUMP AND THE REPUBLICANS ARE SO AWESOME!" https://www.axios.com/trump-team-debates-nationalizing-5g-network-f1e92a49-60f2-4e3e-acd4-f3eb03d910ff.html

They're also using a Kia branded transmission. Wonder how strong those are.

I was just going to post the Doug DeMuro video. I find his videos informational After watching it, it does sound a lot nicer than I thought, I'd like to go check one out in person. I'm a pretty pro German/European car person, so this is not easy to admit that I've now driven in a co-workers Hyundai Genesis and the interior is actually pretty damn nice. It's solid, like German solid. I'm sure the fact that they poached a bunch of ex Audi designer/engineers helps. My GF bought a Sonata a couple years ago, against my recommendation. It's not too shabby in the interior quality and features/options department for the price. Same goes for my buddy's GF's Kia Optima. So with all those things considered, it doesn't sound like a bad car. Would I buy one? Fuck no! I saw an article in some car magazine in a waiting room last week where it was kind of comparing it to a e36 M3, B5 S4 and MB 190e...ha!

Dude at my last job daily drove a red Allente, it was pretty minty. Most interesting thing about those I think is that they were built by Pininfarina.

I say do it. I just had a blowout on 270 last week because I was unaware that the toe angle on my one rear wheel was so fucked up (toe out) that the inside of the tire went down to the cords. Only thing I can think of was that I must've hit a pothole at some point. It wasn't very pleasant putting on the doughnut in 3 degree weather at 8:30am on the side of 270. So now I have a new set of Continentals and fresh alignment

I'm sure Franco is getting screwed because of the accusations, which is bullshit. I have not seen all the movies in the list, but maybe those other actors were just better than him? Opinions of those who've seen all those movies?

+2 It's one of the better plans out there from what I've seen.

Let's not forget that 2017 was the safest year in commercial aviation. Thanks Trump!

Hmm, doesn't surprise me. I'm sure I'd find it informative as well, but nice to know that it has an Oprah Winfrey backing. It's so true about history though. First thing that comes to mind is Gandhi, people like to make him out as a saint, but also not mentioned in text books are that he loved to sleep with under-aged girls, and quite racist against black people. Mandela is another person that comes to mind.

There isn't a celebrity on this planet that I hate more than Oprah. With sexual abuse being all the rage lately, wonder why there was no mention of her racist ass school she built in South Africa that has multiple occurrences of sexual abuse of the students.

Brilliant. I especially love the airline one since it's a worldwide figure. Still, Trump supporters gonna support

I've seen probably about 50% of The Room, and the more "iconic" scenes I've seen multiple times. You don't have to see The Room, but it helps to get a good understanding of it and watch a "best of" on YouTube. But yeah, it has a cult following not much unlike Rocky Horror. There are midnight showings where people dress up like the characters, bring plastic spoons to throw at the screen every time there's a spoon on screen...shit like that.
-
Movies that I've seen, I'm sure there are other good ones but... Disaster Artist Dunkirk and I went in with the lowest of low expectations, but really enjoyed the new Jumanji movie.

Christ...I was making fun of myself for guessing he was talking about SS.

A swing and a miss on social security :dumb:

I think he's talking about social security?

You bring up Obama, he wasn't corrupt. Corruption is being in the real estate business and then giving tax cuts to real estate businesses. I don't watch CNN. Infrastructure in the US is generally shit, and something needs to be done there. Lowering taxes won't fix it, but instead proportioning tax money towards it will. Healthcare was getting better. More people had and were paying into healthcare, which means all our premiums are or would have been lower. The issues is both. You can't spend responsibly if you have nothing to spend you big silly!
-
Rich people aren't the root cause of the world's problems, but corruption is. Playing the victim? Isn't that every Trump voter's battle cry? Not me. I can take care of myself just fine, I'm just concerned for the one's who can't and are dragging the rest of us down with them. I'll gladly contribute a bit more taxes if it means better roads, better public spaces and transportation, better healthcare, less debt, etc.
