  1. Yep - '98 ZX7 riding 377 just north of Chesterhill...in a blind corner with elevation change on the outside and caught the gravel...slowed from 35 to about 25, low-sided on the left side. I came off the bike and slid superman style behind the bike for about 15 feet then scurried off the road. I was at the rear of a 5 person CORE group. They came back for me, but the bike was not rideable. $358 to tow from the crash back to delaware. Only jacked up my knee - problem was that i was pushing my bike past my abilities. Lesson learned.
  2. Ahhh...perfect for me! Tax money to be direct deposited very, very soon...
  3. to me its pretty clear - he shouldn't have been stunting. He's dead because of it. Blame the father - that's a tough one for me. I know that if I was buying my kid his first street bike, I sure as hell wouldn't give him a litre bike. Street riding and jet skis/dirt bikes/atv are very different animals and have very different consequences. The kid would have been better served with a 250 for his first year. IMO of course. R.I.P.
  4. Can a LEO explain why charges don't get filed in these cases?? Clearly it seems that there was negligence on the part of the cager..??
  5. I guess it's true, down to 107 from 121 last year. I thought this year was bad! http://www.wtte28.com/template/inews_wire/wires.regional.oh/31537581-www.wtte28.com.shtml
  6. Wow - that's a shame...went down on a very fast section of the track. You see the bikes flyin' past him...I'm surprised he wasn't hit more than once. Poor guy. R.I.P.
  7. The rider has been named - Terrance Brunton of Newark. Updated story: http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/local_news/stories/2008/08/01/cycle_fatal.html?sid=101
  8. Still no name being provided by the media. Shit the guy I work with goes home that way, but he should've been through earlier than 5. 10TV news said that the rider couldn't stop quick enough and hit a pickup truck.
  9. WOW! NICE! ** drool ** I prefer colored helmets just for the visibility factor. I've got a blue/white/silver HJC Yikes III. Hard for cagers to miss.
  10. Hope this isn't anyone we know: http://www.10tv.com/live/content/local/stories/2008/08/01/70_crash.html?sid=102 I ride home down 70 every night...freakin' scary when the afternoon rush is on. R.I.P.
  11. Its crazy whenever I tell someone I had a ZX7 and crashed it they tell me their buddy(s) had a kawi and crashed it. Its like - it delivers so much power that it can provide such a sense of security that its got you fooled!
  12. jesus tap-dancin'-christ dude! Fuck that looks worse than I thought! Damn dude - I hope you heal up good. I'm glad you're doing ok - I know that riding is dangerous and I keep myself from going too fast (thank you Sept 02 2007 crash on 377!!!) but wow I am really glad it wasn't worse. Count your blessing's bro - grow from this experience. You have a lot of friends here that know you a lot better than me (I've never met ya) but I think I speak for most that see your pics; you're pretty lucky! I'd like to see you ride but I doubt I could come close to keeping up with you!! ** Drunk and rockin' to W.A.S.P. The Last Command **
  13. Glad to hear everything is pretty much ok. Sucks that it happened though. I tend to go much slower over the blind hills and corners - you just never know what's waiting for you. Unless you know the road of course
  14. yet another reason to own an un-sexy 250 that no one would even want to steal! Seriously I know your pain. I had a '96 Katana 750 stolen from me after just 1 month of ownership. Never got it back - lost my trade-in ($1500), down payment ($500) and I still had to pay the freakin' insurance company $500!! total loss to me: $2500 and I had no bike. Special can of whoop-ass for this thief if they're caught!
  15. I think the kawi forums are pretty good!! I've had 3 ninja's and always frequented the boards over there for advice. Good forum IMO. But yea, that dude that paid $7400 for an '08 250 got seriously robbed! Jeez!
  16. Unfortunately not much. I'm surprised he didn't learn after going down a few times already. Hopefully he'll figure it out before sonething bad happens. Every chance you get keep trying to talk sense to him, set a good example and the rest is up to him.
  17. I too commute everyday...rockin' 60 miles to the gallon on me 250 I feel like I'm cheating the system...I haven't filled up for almost 2 weeks, it only cost me $12!! MUCH different than feeding my mustang (ouch!)
  18. Saw that this morning on the news, his name is Brian Beaumont. Hope no one from here.
  19. I saw Spies a few weeks ago in a MotoGP event, and apparently he was at Assen but they elected not to run him on a track he'd never been on before. I'd say he's movin' on up - make AMA a bit more interesting w/o him.
  20. sounds like a fair outcome - too bad it didn't just go away but I would not expect that at all once I had a ticket in my hand
  21. Price sounds a little high - I'd get 'em $4K OTD before I'd even consider it.
  22. Park bike in driveway - put kickstand down - walk away - hear crunch I guess the slope of the driveway was just enough to move the weight forward on the stand. 2003 EX500 - didn't punch the stalks through the fairing though - that part fell in the grass and didn't break. Still scratched up the tank/fairing pretty good though. I felt like a total chode. lol!
