Looks like I'm finally ready to put a cap on the story. After speaking with Don at Eastland chainsaw, I find out that Mccolloch has been out of business for years. The coil for this chainsaw is no longer available. He tells me to clean the coil and regap it at 10 mm, which I did. Fires right up and runs great. let it run for a while, got it warm, shut it down, fired right back up. Fucking awesome. If you have any parts needs, Repair needs, or just want to buy a trustworthy old solid piece of equipment, Go see Don at Eastland chainsaw. He's a grumpy old man of few words, but if he can't fix it or tell you how to fix it, it can't be fixed.
