  1. If it rains you can't do anything outside, so you're in.

  3. Not saying you can't get what you are asking and I wish you luck, just pointing out some of the realities of the motorcycle market.
  4. Me too. It just shows laziness and lack of care for the bike. Usually the first sign that maintenance has been neglected. Retail is the suckers price. If you pay 90% of retail, your doing it wrong.
  5. There is no real "fun" route that I know of. 37 south of new lex is good but the section of 555 from 78 to chesterhill sucks. Chesterhill to 550 is the best part IMO. Last weekend I wound my way down through Logan, new Straitsville, glouster, over 329 I believe down to 550 up into Chesterhill and took 555 down to 550. That was a good ride. You can take 550 W. over into Athens and pick up 56 into hocking hills.
  6. What really matters, value-wise is condition and that you saved all the stock parts to put it back to stock if the new buyer chooses. If its super clean (like showroom) never been down(of course) and simple details like the triple isn't all scratched to shit from a wad of keys bouncing around on it while riding, it will sell at the higher end of the book value than if its not been well cared for.
  7. It doesn't. Especially if the buyer is financing it. No bank is going to loan more for a bike than NADA value because it has farkles. It's worth book to them and that's it. Some mods will help it sell quicker over the next guys SV, but shit like neons may actually hurt you because a smart buyer is gonna see that as the harness being possibly hacked to add unnecessary gayness.
  8. If i were to put it on the replacement list, it would sit firmly behind the compressor that is dying a slow death and the gas grill that is rusting out and the repair on the wife's truck that is pumping oil into the air cleaner all of a sudden. In other words, it's a good old saw that just needs repaired, and quick. I gots free firewood to go collect.
  9. The carb is pretty easy to disassemble at this point. Ill give it a check tomorrow. I think my issue is more to do with weak spark, though Ive been wrong before, hence this thread. If I hadnt just invested in a new Stihl weedeater, Id craigslist this old beast and get a new Stihl saw.
  10. Quit doin whoolies! I know, easier said than done on that thing.
  11. Here's another weird issue. If you let it sit for a bit, it will start and run...until you shut it off and try to restart it. Perplexing.
  12. I'm not even sure where the coil is on this pig. Looks like it's time to tear the thing down....again. Thanks for you help
  13. Just tried the spark test again and it doesn't appear I'm getting good spark. Hopefully it's just the plug, but that doesn't make sense to me since it runs and idles fine once it starts.
  14. Fuel line is brand new and holding fuel.
  15. No bulb, no fuel filter. Old skool! Early 90's model. I did the finger-in-the-hole compression test and it seems to have good compression. Rebuilt the carb 3 years ago and have maybe 3 or 4 hours on it since. Not that that means anything.
  16. I have an old McCullouch Timber Bear. It has always run well until recently. It has become a bitch to start. I have to pull the plug and dry it every time. Then usually hit it with starting fluid. Once it's running, it runs fine and strong, idles well and all, but if you shut it off, it won't start again. I pulled the plug and cleaned it. It was wet with gas, but it didn't spray out of the plug hole when I cranked it sans plug. I pulled the carb and checked it. Clean and unclogged. The fuel line is new, full of fuel and its getting good spark. Not sure what to make of it. Thoughts?
  17. Don't buy into what the weather men are selling, Mick. They have no idea what it's going to be Saturday.
  18. Sorry for your loss. Cancer sucks.
  19. Babies are the number one way of turning your toys into disposable diapers.
