The Ruger (at least the Mark II) is a bitch to break down for cleaning. Rock solid otherwise and a buddy and all his friends (mostly me) put thousands of rounds through it before it needed broke down to clean, but was a major undertaking. Something to consider.

Caspers pretty familiar with this one. He helped me lug it into the basement last year. I've outgrown it also.

Rockys suck since they went out of the country. I've been wearing Red Wings for about 10 years and wouldnt wear anything else. Get a pair with Vibram soles. They last way longer than any other soles on any boots I've seen, and they dont melt in fires. edit: apparently, if you want Red Wings with Vibram soles these days, you are limited to loggers. Anyone know anything about Chippewa boots? Im kinda digging these: These are dirt cheap and Vibram soled. Anyone heard of Bierker?

I'm a Marlin fanboy and I'm telling you, get the 10/22. The 60 is a great gun, but so is the Ruger, and you can get a 30 round mag. There are TONS of aftermarket goodies for the 10/22:

That paint job is fukin baller, but you don't want it. The 4cyl. YJ's were horrible. That iron duke based pos was completely powerless. As in 45 on the freeway climbing hills floored in 4th gear. Junk.

I just got a used one. That's a good price. I pocket carry it, without any problems, though with the grip extension, it prints some. It wouldn't work well in tight jeans. I still carry the .38 mostly until I get some more practice time in. Gonna take a while to get used to that extremely long trigger pull. Nice gun, but shot it side by side with a PF-9 and like its trigger a little better. More predictable.
