I'm guessing they deliberately don't trademark it for American sports orgs to use as a template. The logos are too similar for it not to be on purpose. It's promoting nationalism. Besides, all the logos are technically very different, just using the same color and concept. I don't know enough about trademarking to know what you can and can not trademark but I'm guessing this theme is a little vague. Any experts out there?

well... and the NBA logo and MLB oh right and AMA I think it's just the theme for American pro sports.

I appreciate that and would be up for it, however, unless abdecal is stepping down I'll politely decline. I'm not looking to step on any toes. I'm just happy with my output and would like to make a little side money doing custom stuff. As for copyright decals. I'm not saying I won't make them (obviously). I think any shop around would make them if you show up with a file. I'm just not looking to made "real" money making them. I don't really think there is much money is 1 or 2 kawasaki logos or GSXR logos for a guy on a forum that just put paint on his track bike. I can definitely see where you might get a call if you made a website full of brands and made a lot of money at reproducing those brands but again I think it probably has to do with the size of your operation. Or maybe I'm just willing to take that risk as I don't see much harm in a small operation.

Got the decals printed and applied today and I dyed the seat black. I think I need to lower the exhaust because I have a slight clearance issue with my fat ass on it but otherwise this thing seems done.

I'm not sure of the exact law, but the history of the Aero 80 is that it was sold from 1983-1985 (a 125 2stroke was sold in 1985 only) and was replaced by the Elite because of emissions regulations (the elite 50 remained a 2 stroke). These days I only see the japanese scooters being sold in 2 strokes when they are less than 50cc. Not sure about the modern stellas. Zuma 50, 2 stroke, anything bigger, 4 stroke, for example.

Agreed, I'm working on making the OEM decals for it in white as well.

My favorite thing about how "retro" it is, is that it's a 2-stroke that is bigger than they can legally sell here since 1987.

I finally finished the scooter. Body work is on, exhaust is fitted and fueling seems correct. In the current configuration she'll do about 50mph on the flats.
