Yah, even if the front end jumps up or the steering moves it doesn't matter because the rear axle is locked in. The bike will not move side to side at all. You don't even need a wheel chalk. Like I said, low tech simple idea. watch this video. Maybe it is more clear. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwaEABfg2rA

It's such a simple design. So much better than straps. I just love seeing clever innovative low tech ideas like this that are well executed.

Me and some buddies bought 3 restraints to use this season. Haven't used them yet but as usual from pit bull this stuff looks indestructable. I'm posting some pictures of the stuff unboxed. In a week or so I'll add some pics of them installed holding bikes and stuff. I wanted to give a shout out to TJ at riders discount. He was great to work with and got things shipped out quick. Give him a call if you want some of these. more info here over at the wera forum.... here http://forums.13x.com/showthread.php?t=242070

I see. That's what I figured.

I think I remember this from watching Superbikes when Jason Britten was learning to drag race from that pro guy. I bet it's what they do in the "street" class but the probably don't do it in the class where the bikes are built for nothing but drag racing. Again. more info.

I'm not judging, nor do I care what you do on the street or track. Just curious. I can see how it would help though. do pros use straps or shorter springs and a "tuned" suspension? Just curious.
-
I see. I know it helps your launch or something, I'm just not very familiar with the drag racing scene. Seems like it would be better to just set the suspension up to run low rather than use straps but what do I know.
-
I know they do this for drag racing and stuff. Do people use this on the street, do you just ride around with your forks and shock compressed?

What a great argument for CCW. I've never bought into this gang mumbo jumbo. Don't flash your lights at the car that is driving with their lights off or what ever. Who can keep up. If you see a baby on the side of the road you should probably stop. This makes me want to buy a gun, just in case I fall prey to one of these lame prey on the weak situations. If they run into someone who is at least prepared to protect themselves things might be a little different.

Fax over VOIP is a little more delicate. The sounds being transmitted need to be a little more clear. There are a lot of factors that could play into this. It's really funny to think about Fax over VOIP. It's essentially an early form of a dial up modem. You are transferring data in a digital way (ones and zeros) over an analog line using sound. What is funny when it's over VOIP is it's digital over analog over digital (ones and zeros represented by sound over IP). In theory anyway. kind of makes me think of cassette tapes. Like when you took a store bought tape, made a copy and then made a copy from the copy. It's not really like that at all since there is no digital part but it makes me think of that.

You mean he is with Brawn-Mercedes?

IP port forwarding and QOS are two seperate things. Unfortunately, if your phone is working at all then you have the IP port forwarding or DMZ settings correct already. The QOS that you can define will be minimal as it will only apply to your local traffic. In other words, if you aren't using some other computer to download porn or talk on skype while you try to use your vonage then QOS probably isn't your problem. Either way, if there is QOS settings on either device it will be some sort of priority assignment that you can give to certain ports or IPs. The problem is likely with latency or Jitter on the link coming into your house from your ISP. Hope that helped get you in the right direction. I've never set up vonage before but I'd dealt with a little qos and port forwarding in my day.

Some people will tell you that the tech spec is functionally better. I couldn't tell the difference. Main thing was. I repainted the bike, including the tank and also removed a big dent from the tank so I just got new Tech spec when I removed the stomp grip because I like it better in look and feel. I think the both more or less accomplish the same thing though.
-
I'm not too worried about noise or comfort on that bike. There were 2 things compelling me to get a new one. 1. the old one was scuffed all to hell so putting a camera on the tank wouldn't work very well. 2. It was so low there was no way I was getting under the air on the straight aways. I'm 6'3" so it's tough. The zero gravity double bubble is the same one a lot of guys are running at the track. This picture of me pulling in the pits is a good illustration of how big I actually am on this bike.
-
I'm a big assed dude. I'm hoping to actually be able to tuck under it.

I got a new windscreen. Naturally..... I took some pictures. It'll be nice, I might be able to point the go pro through the windscreen now since I have a clear one. Old windscreen....... of course I didn't take a before picture tonight. New Windscreen!

I don't NEED a snowblower this year either but no matter what the accumulation it beats the hell out of shoveling. We are on a motorcycle forum here. You should understand the difference between the words want and need very well. This reminds me of all the non motorcycle people that say "you don't need a bike that goes that fast" and I retort, "need" should never be a word that enters your mind when talking about these bikes. You know what I mean?
-
I'm not saying we aren't getting more snow. I'm just saying you probably missed the brunt of it already. I know it's el nino and all that Besides all of those shoveling muscles are probably back in shape now. Bottom line, you're gonna pay a premium new or used right now. I don't see anything above a 30% chance of snow for the next 10 days which puts to March 1st.
-
You are out of your mind. I used my snow blower about 8 times in the last 2 weeks, What would have taken me 1.5 hours to shovel took me 15 minutes each time. If that doesn't justify a snowblower I don't know what does. I'll give you that I don't need a big one though. I'll now refer you to my sweet onboard snow blower video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxlC7-0cSfo
-
You might as well wait until it's warm at this point and buy one when they aren't in demand. I could be jinxing us but how much more snow can we really get this late in the winter. Having said that. You might try Como Mower on Indianola. I have had my mower and blower in there for carb work. They are good people and do good work.

What about a jpeg screen shot of the text?
-
It's not the size of the snowblower in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the snowblower.
-
I thought about quoting it in the thread but I had a sneaking suspicion you'd handle saving the text one way or another.

You best watch your tone Matt..... or I'll watch it for you!

he sounds like the sort of guy that is always having things happen to him but is never actually at fault.
