  1. this is awesome. I am typing my response and surfing or with my iphome right now
  2. I was at Putnam in July, never went to nashville, and yes there was a huge thread covering the whole bike being bought, repaired, painted and so on. Yep, I got the bike from Brandon.
  3. Good point. If they have some weekend Mid-OH days, like the thread says, I may end up riding a nesba day this year. I was very disappointed with the Mid-OH schedule. Very few weekend days this year.
  4. Sounds like they run a tight ship. I think that is very important as a lot of people take for granted how dangerous what we are doing out there could actually be. I have always been impressed with STT and think they do a great job but it sounds like I'd be pretty happing riding with NESBA as well. Only downside I see is that the membership is expensive in comparison.
  5. Do you know Brandon or have you seen me at a track event?
  6. Because, I started looking at bikes a few years ago and thought the ducati monster was the best looking bike I had ever seen and was somewhat moderate in horsepower. This made it a good first "big bike" I started looking at Ducatis because my buddy's 748S with arrow pipes sounded better than anything I'd ever heard. I bought the gixxer because I fell in love with track riding and decided that I didn't want to wreck the duc on the track (which I ended up doing anyway) and because superbikes are just better on the race track. Cleaning up the gixxer ended up being a fun project as well. And then there is the yamahopper. I love it because it is an adventure every time you go anywhere on it. It's also a good pit bike. It's a 1980, my parents won it in a raffle at my highschool festival the "Alter Fest" in 1986. It ran for awhile, then sat in the garage for a long time. I finally talked my dad into giving it to me and I got it running, had to pay someone to figure out an electrical problem it had but it's freaking awesome now.
  7. I'll be checking this out when I get home.
  8. OK, I'm sold, somebody buy one and confirm that it works with simple things like iphones and I'll get a few.
  9. How does NESBA compare to STT? I've never ridden with NESBA
  10. I love stuff that makes no sense.
  11. awesome! So when my late night at the bar ends I can continue drinking while eating. LOL
  12. doesn't look like they are cancelling class at OSU. crap!
  13. I took a few at lunch today at the house. Need to run the snowblower again tonight.
  14. I have a standard lens non HD gopro and this cheap camera doesn't look much better. Here is an example of a video from it on a cold cloudy day. which is where you'll really see the down sides of these small cameras. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efcFxLBg5ew&feature=related sure it doesn't have the wide angle that you get with the gopro wide and it's not HD like the gopro HD but it's still pretty good and at $15 a piece you could afford to run a bunch of them.
  15. yep, although Tesla didn't manage to bring us wireless electricity, he did win the current war with alternating current. The 60hz electricity we all use in our homes today is a direct result of his technology. Very cool stuff. Not that direct current isn't used in tons of stuff today, it's just not the main infrastructure for reasons not so much of preference but just because AC has a lot of advantages over DC at least from a large infrastructure standpoint.
  16. It may be nerdy to say but.... Tesla is a badass.
  17. That depends on where I'm going. If I'm going to chicaco, I'd rather ditch my car since there is no where to park and they have a great train system inside the city. If I was going to Dayton, Cincy or Cleveland I'd probably want to have my car since there is no good way other than taxis to get around in those cities.
  18. This looks like an excellent gopro alternative. Do they have a wide angle version?
  19. Have you tried computer express on bethel next to Microcenter. I used to have a bunch of old hardware and have taken a ton of it there because they'll test and resell it.
  20. I don't think you are paying for the bike just for the horsepower number. That front suspension looks like the britten. gotta love a company that bases there small production on a bunch of ducati motors. bottom end 1000DS, middle 999R motor, 2nd to top 1098R motor and top o the line supercharged 1098R motor. That thing is pretty neat. Hmmmmm, or maybe it looks like this Bimota. That probably has a duc motor too.
  21. I saw that today too. Jalopnik is hit or miss for me but I actually enjoyed their little right up with this one. That bike is batshit crazy. How can you not like that.
  22. unless you are getting it really really cheap or free I would say you'd be better off getting something more modern and common. 1. The bike technology will be better and make the bike easier to ride fast, and 2. you'll be able to find parts easier. You can find pretty complete track bikes on the wera forum for around $2500 that are 10 to 15 years newer.
  23. Iron Pony has a bunch of Ramps. You could go down there and look at the very least to get ideas. Or just buy one while you are there. That is how I have always seen people put bikes in trucks.
