  1. I've decided to take a shot at these after having Pazzos on my 51. I'm no super track dude, but dig trick go-fast parts. I did have the same kind of questions regarding the build quality of them that Brian has, but Ryan was very forthcoming on his thoughts, and I trust him. Gixxie's endorsement here helps too.
  2. Thanks, Brian! I just might pester you on some things. My last Gix750 was a '97, so I have some catching up to do with the Zook brand.
  3. So as a few of you know I sold my RC51 and am turning the funds into a dedicated track bike. Well, I decided to go the route of a project build, rather than just dump $3k+ on an established track bike. Not that there is anything wrong in doing that, as there are lots of good deals out there to be had. But between frugality and the desire to build something all my own, I found an 05 GSXR 750 (well most of one) for a song and dance, and decided that was a good platform to build from. I've since set about acquiring parts, and am getting back to spending quality time in my garage, something I haven't done in a while. Given the resurrecting nature of my project, I have been taking pics and documenting what I've got and what's been done as a means of entertaining myself throughout my project. For those interested, I'll share the whole thing once its done, but until here is the first pic I took when I brought home my project. It doesn't look like much now, and even less then (granted only a week ago) but she should round out nicely. I am sure it will end up being more bike that I am capable of maximizing on the track, but while I am antsy for the days of cutting cold laps far behind the likes of blue0636, jbot, SJC1000rr, I am enjoying giving new life to this gixxer. I can tell you it's a solid base for a tracker, as the motor is tight, the frame is true, and the rims are properly round. Alright, enough typing. Back out to the garage to clean and build!
  4. Glad she is home! Thanks to you and her for your time. Semper Fi
  5. Many thanks to Hobs here for my tire order! Can't wait to fill my company's office with the smell of fresh rubber!
  6. To the track/racing types...I am piecing together my new track project, and have come across a gent selling me a ton of gear to help me out. Included are a set of hardly used OSF rearsets. Has anyone here used them before? I scanned a couple other forums out there and they seem to have pretty solid reviews. I know that OSF is no longer in business, and so did the previous owner. So he picked up doubles of everything save for the mounting blocks and heel guards. Just curious to others opinions I guess. (I know, dangerous territory 'round these parts.)
  7. cmh, you sir, will not be getting a christmas card from me this year. (not that you did last year, but that's irrelevant.) :lol:nice one
  8. I hadn't heard of that one. Will look that up for sure. Thanks for the tip!

    new job!

Congrats!! What will you be engineering?
  10. How much different would it have been had he chased her like the cop haters wanted and her doped up ass ran into traffic and got hit by a car? Either way, she put herself/allowed herself to be in a position to run from a cop and subjected herself to the potential harm that comes with that. Natural selection strikes again.
  11. Does the little brat still win the pod race? Cuz I'd like to see him wad his shit up and get left behind by the jedi. "You suck at racing, kid. Hope you like sand."
  12. Mad props to Nathan today! Wicked nuts price on my new throttle!
  13. Chicken pox are no joke. I had them as a kid, and shingles a couple years back. Shingles was one of the worst physical experiences of my life. Wishing the best for your Mrs. And kudos to NinjaDoc for the prompt and wise attention!
  14. Bump...sound, solid bike. True story.
  15. How many heat cycles are those good for? I'm looking at a set of Q2s from STG for $218, but hoping that one set of tires gets me through most of my track days this year (6 or 7).
  16. Bump for this bike. It makes r1crusher seem fast.
  17. I thought off and on about tracking it as well, but in the end it was a couple things. One, it's a big, heavy bike to be tossing around places like BeaveRun and GingerMan that have 12, 13 turns in a mile and a half. Two, given its niche status, replacement parts for it are a bit expensive IMHO, and not as easy to come by as Gixxer or R6 parts, per se. I had it here, RC51forums.com, and Cleveland CL. I had two hits on the RC forums, a handful of teases here, and in the two days I had it on CL, I had 12 different inquiries. A couple guys were your standard knuckleheads from CL, but I had a solid 5-6 guys that were pestering me a lot. In the end the first guy that contacted me from CL got it. r1crusher must talk in his sleep. He kinda himmed and hawed over some things, but in the end I got something in the range that I am comfortable with. It was a fair deal.
  18. Thanks, Mike. I just picked up tonight a little project. 05 Gixxer 750 that needs some TLC and rebuilding, but got it for next to nothing. Motor is strong and frame is true. Kevin and I are scouring the interwebz for pieces now.
  19. I will be in need of tire mounting services in the Cleveland area, and if one of the ORDN folks does so, I will happily patronize you!
  20. Thanks, man! No, I really don't. She was great for 6 years, but I'm getting off the street and it wasn't worth it to try and track it, or let it sit. Come an' gets me!
