  1. Uh, re-read my thread and the true times are in there. I was lying about the 1:27 and 1;06 times... I was providing an example of how things can get out of control...

damn you just proved your own point...

if they are lying about their times, then it proves nothing.

would it be worth it to add the year/make/model of the bike as well? just curious

sure, the times between a 1 litre and 600 could be very different at certain tracks. year maybe not, but i figure if we're going to have the cc size might as well at least have the model.

  2. there are always going to be margins or error in this, i know that, so lets just go by the lap timer you are running and the honor system. obviously if i say i did a :35 at mid oh that would be a joke. if you have a lap logged on My Laps then go ahead and post that.

most of the guys/gals that have lap timers will have XT (not all...most) so theoretically, even though they will be "off" we can still compare since they were from the same type of device and the MOE should be similar and thus render insignificant.

--this doesn't mean if you have an XT that you can't post, by all means still post your times.

--i clarified the Mid Oh course and added more.

  3. This thread will be for Ohio Rider members to post their lap times at all the tracks we visit.

Since a common question is "what's a fast lap time for xxxx track?", I'll keep the top 5 lap times, along with who did them, in the first post.

This will go by the honor system, so don't be a dick and make up lap times just to make yourself look better. This is not for bragging rights, more for a friendly competition as well as a tool for the new riders to see and compare how they are doing against the older more experienced riders.

There are no exclusions, meaning anybody who has run at the tracks listed below may post a time. Racers are allowed.

Also make sure to post up your bike and tire combo along side your results.

Finally, since this has just started, if anyone has any suggestions as tracks to add to the list, or to actually disallow the racer's times, feel free to post up.

you can post up times from years prior as well, it doesn't have to start this year...

it just started today, so there isn't that many times up... not sure if the link will work, you might need to be logged in (no guest view)

obviously we aren't a r6 specific board, which is why i thought to add the part of bike/tire combo.

  5. idea from another board:

lap times from the tracks around here. post up the top 5 lap times just so people can compare. not for bragging rights, more of a comparison for the new guys or the guys that are moving up to see how good they are doing. no exclusions, meaning everybody can post a time, none of this no racers allowed stuff. also maybe what tires/bike combo you were running.

    mid oh

    nelson

    putnam

    and soon to be bluegrass!

possibly a sticky in the trackday/race section...?

thought it could be something fun once the season starts.

  6. sounds like fun, but I've been around the block a time or two (literally)... so there aren't a bunch of rodes I haven't discovered in the dayton/cincinnati region

thats what i thought too... until i went on these rides...

well then ya need to come up to c-bus and ride with us on a few....

not really much up here unless you go to hocking...

  7. Well i applied the gasket sealant today and torqued up the cases and am letting it sit til tomorrow. I think i did a good job of doing it, followed the manual as to where to apply the sealant, applied it to one side as per manual, made sure it didn't get too close to bearings, fingerpaint style, etc...

I looked inside at the mating surface and could see a very residual amount of sealant that oozed in, and i mean very small. is something to be concerned about? Also is there really any warning as to if there is a bearing going or would i find out after its too late?

  8. you will not need the superbike lines at all, you honestly won't use them to their potential at all. the sbk lines are geared for the hardcore trackday rider/racer.

your normal SS lines will do you just fine, trust me.

i know someone that can hook you up with any galfer product, just let me know.

front lines for ~65 dollars plus cost of bolts and fittings, if you get all custom it will be more obviously (~+25), but if you do normal it should be more than 10-15 dollars on top of the 64.

you also want to get your gear before you upgrade your bike. remember you are more important...

  9. he drives a different car everyday to work.

the other thing i like about him is that he doesn't just let them sit and dust them every once in a while, he actually gets out and drives these things!

if you ever get the chance to talk to him in person about his collection (and can look past and around his huge chin) he's very knowledgeable and great guy to talk to.
