  2. i think the hysteria would be worse than y2k personally. even if it doesn't happen you know not only the movies, but the newscasts will be cashing in on this come around that time just to get review's. it will bring it to the attention of people who didn't already know about it, people going crazy at grocery stores buying water/canned goods. others going on rampages of murder, rape, theft, etc thinking if the world is going to end they can do whatever they want and not have to face the consequences. thats what i think. even if the world doesn't actually end on 12/21/12, the mere thought that it might will bring something similar to the "end"
  3. ^dude i just saw that armageddon special on History channel. kinda neat, but i dont believe it... although shit will go crazy dec 20.

  6. too much carbon or normal for a bike with 30k? what about covering up the exhaust ports while cleaning to prevent water getting in, stuff with the blue paper towels?
  7. time for a little update: my workbench that 1fasttc (john) so graciously donated! much much appreciated! (the helmet is not mine, but my roomates...) box of covers, staying as organized as i possibly can with ziploc baggies with detailed labeling (this is more full now, i just haven't taken a picture yet) stator timing and clutch exposed. see what i have to work with? gross. exhaust ports (if anything looks suspicious let me know) clutch boss removed. input shaft -- trying to figure out how to get that bearing out (two holed thing around the shaft) oil pan off -- oil strainer a little dirty but other than that everything looks fairly clean another update: sent the supsension off with EarAche (Eric--again much thanks to him!) to reuben at 35 motorsports after finally nailing down what i wanted to do within my budget. Installing new .9 springs with an OEM revalve, as well as a refresh and recharge in the back (no spring needed). Ill get it back as soon as Eric decides when he wants to come see us again in Cbus... questions: any ideas how to clean all that crap off? i have a brass wired brush but i dont think that will hold up for the whole thing. I tried a dremel with different attachements but that only gave me a "brushed polished" look, so i stopped that idea. how do i get off the bearing on the input shaft and the exhaust ports, look ok?
  8. no you dont have to be a member. dont know the rest...
  9. you talking the quad or the girl my hobby: i like to take things apart and put them back together again. no seriously other than that the rest of my money and time are dedicated to
  10. part 2 i just thought of, you also have to worry about when your bike falls on no cuts that offset force could stress or strip the motor mount. not good.
  11. Just make sure you get cut sliders. if it falls and hits that puck imagine a free body diagram. cut slider: force goes directly through the puck to the frame no cuts: force goes directly through the puck, but its offset from the frame resulting in twisting or at most a complete break of the frame, depending on how knarly your crash was. i've heard good reports from vortex and woodcraft. although i have heard of the vortex puck melting over the access bolt making it harder to get in and replace. i have had my vortex on for 3 years and they are still as white as the day i bought them.
  12. ^thats a good looking bike you got there...
  13. its not like its a long term relationship... trackdays are more like a one night stand.
  14. surely you dont mean two whole gallons do you!? do the basics first like jrmii said, check the adjustment down by the clutch cover first. if that doesn't work its probably plates that are stuck, you might need new springs.
  15. there is a lot of potential with the sv. if i had to choose id go with that. gixxer ha silly
  16. Sony Ericsson - Bluetooth Wireless Headphones - Black/Silver - HBHDS200 im currently in the market for new bluetooth headphones -- in particular in the ear phones. i like these because i can use my own headphones with this setup. there are no real reviews out as of yet but it is sony, so really can't be too much wrong. want the in ear style, just because thats what i like. and i want to get rid of my ipod and use my phone exclusively for music/phone capabilities. it would only be 35 out of my pocket with gift cards i have so its really not that bad of a deal.
  17. if your thinking 250... keep an eye open here there are a lot of people on here ready to graduate from the 250 class and move on up. if your thinking 600... just be careful.
