What is the law concerning concealed carry on a motorcycle? What about a non-concealed or open carry, i.e carrying a weapon while on the way to a range?
From what i know and what i have read the concealed carry law is the same as in a car, in this case it would have to be on you just as if you were walking down the street or in a closed bag (i.e. backpack). From what my concealed carry book says on open carry there are no laws regulating open carry in Ohio
Transporting in Motor Vehicles
The transportation of loaded, concealed handguns in motor vehicles
is permitted, but strict obligations are imposed by the law to protect
you and law enforcement. These obligations apply to drivers and
occupants. These obligations do not apply if you are storing a firearm
for any lawful purpose and it is not on your person or you are lawfully
storing or possessing a firearm in your home.
You may not have a loaded handgun in the vehicle if you are under the
influence of drugs or alcohol. If you have a concealed carry permit, you
may not transport a loaded, concealed handgun in a vehicle unless it is
carried in one of the following ways:
14
• The loaded handgun is in a holster secured on the person. Ohio law
previously required carrying firearms in a holster in plain sight. The
“plain sight” provision has been removed from the law.
• The loaded handgun is in a closed case, bag, box, or other
container that is in plain sight and that has a lid, a cover, or a closing
mechanism with a zipper, snap, or buckle, which lid, cover or
closing mechanism must be opened for a person to gain access to
the handgun, or
• The loaded handgun is securely encased by being stored in a closed,
glove compartment or console, or in a case that is locked.
Motorcycles fall under the definition of motor vehicles. Thus, the same
requirements apply to licensees who carry a handgun while on a
motorcycle.
Open Carry
Ohio’s concealed carry laws do not regulate “open” carry of firearms.
If you openly carry, use caution. The open carry of firearms is a legal
activity in Ohio.

wtf!!! i thought they weren't allowed to chase bikes for this very reason! Not blaming the cops here, but i think this is one of those incidents where the police should have backed off, especially with a passenger! Poor woman...rip
-
let's seriously get out there and ride to this thing! Go to that court date, do whatever is necessary, we all talk about these incidents way too much and actually need get together on this. We are a ridiculously large group now and need to use it!

Sorry to hear this, sending my prayers and sympathies to you and your family

Continuing on with the thanks to IP and DucRX as well as Cycle Search not to mention Ben and Carie and every other supporter of the site, us here at the shop would like to donate a certificate for a Lojack tracking unit for the raffle! This unit is the basic tracking system for Lojack (which the winner can upgrade to the Early warning system for a $150) which is the theft recovery system. For more information about Lojack look here http://www.ohio-riders.com/showthread.php?t=32071. This certificate does not include installation however, for more information shoot me a pm.
Happy to be able to donate to support the site and Motorcycle Awareness!
See you all there!

AIROBI, Kenya - A Kenyan man's offer of 40 goats and 20 cows for Chelsea Clinton's hand in marriage may still be on the table — and Hillary Rodham Clinton has promised to convey the "very kind offer" to her daughter. To laughter at a town hall meeting Thursday in Kenya, CNN's Fareed Zakaria asked the U.S. Secretary of State if the Clintons had made a decision on the dowry offer. In 2000, a Kenyan man wrote to then-president Bill Clinton offering the animals in accordance with African tradition.
After a pause, Clinton said, "My daughter is her own person, very independent, so I will convey this very kind offer."
Clinton has denied rumors that her daughter, 29, is planning to get married this summer.

I know this is a long shot on here but we have damn near brand new Harley Softail Deluxe with only 1780 miles on it. Screamin Eagle pipes and it is the cobalt blue/white color with chrome on everything. The bike is in great shape and can't even be considered broken in. I love riding this bike every now and then and it almost convinces me that I would like a crusier.
Here are some pics

on weekends i would say you are ok to park in the motorcycle parking areas on campus, especially if you have a cover for the bike. The traffic and parking guys dont work from saturday night to very early monday morning from what i know
-
depends on what time downtown too...you need a parking pass from 7am to 5 pm weekdays to park in those spots downtown...basically i just find a meter or some place that is not big enough for a car to park in
So why am I so sensitive about....

I know and believe Stalin was worse, he killed more Jews than Hitler did and also killed millions of his own people with full public knowledge. I have a severe distrust of Russians especially since the incident with Georgia recently. i took a class recently on the history of Intelligence, this class went in depth on Russian Intelligence and since the beginning of the Russian Empire there have been horrible, atrocious, "intelligence" services that are many time no more that death squads (going back to in some instances to the 14th century when they wore black armor and essentially pillaged the countryside to gain obedience).
Also look at the casualty numbers for Russian from WWII, it is around 10,000,000 military deaths alone with total number dead is over 23,000,000! That is over 14 percent of their population. This man sent millions of troops to there deaths, many times without weapons to use as human shields...there is a lot more i could say but i will hold here...
Oh and dont get me started on Japanese brutality during WWII
(none of these comments are meant to be racist be any means)
