  1. Please son! My Honda has more soul than most people.:D Caring for one's bike is a labor of love, it facilitates an unbreakable bond between machine and rider, one so powerful that the bike can begin to sense the rider's thoughts (ever wonder why it seems as if your bike corners effortlessly with you on it, but not so much with someone else?). So don't make it mad with thoughts of replacing it.:nono:

Does Hallmark have a line of Motorcycle greeting cards?:D

You are completely right, there are a few times where i feel like the bike actually saved my life. That connection is the most important thing to have with a machine, especially one such as a bike.

  2. We have an essentially brand new 1098s Tricolore sitting in our shop waiting for someone to take it home (not you yota unless i see cash...lol). It has around 200 miles on it, never been titled, complete with a termignoni exhaust and a Ducati tuned ECU. Here are the specs on it http://www.motorcycle.com/specs/ducati/sport/2007/1098/s-tricolore.html

It is the owners bike and is considered a private sale. This bike is in phenomenal shape (as it should be with 200 miles on it). Brand new this bike went for $25,000 and the NADA lists this bike for $19,300 used.

    Our Price?

    $18,000

    pics to come soon

  3. Regardless of what jammers or other gizmos they have, having a 90% recovery rate convinces me, not to mention the personal experience of our store in Chicago. Out of the bikes that sold with lojack and then stolen from the customer, all of them came back (around 90 or so of them).

  4. this may be overkill if you carry comprehensive...

but if you're like me...and don't have the extra 2k/yr for comprehensive insurance...it's a good investment.

i feel you on that one, I had to carry it because of the loan i had on the bike, now i dont have to keep comprehensive on it...still do, but i saved soooo much money by adding lojack

I have the same sentimental attachment to my jeep, it's a money pit, but I have had so much fun in the thing and it's saved my life a few times that I could not do the whole cash for clunkers thing because they would destroy it...:(

  5. CSC is offering $200 off of LoJack for all OR members!

Lojack is the premier theft recovery unit, with a recovery rate of 90%, most of which are within the first few hours! Lojack is not a GPS unit and there are no monthly fees.

It is based on a radio signal unit that works directly with the police, so when your bikes is stolen, you call the police and most if not all police vehicles, aircraft, and helicopters have a unit that locateds and directs the police to the bike. Best part is with the FM signal, it is very hard to block, unlike GPS which can be blocked by trees, buildings, tunnels, etc.

The unit looks like an OEM part and even the customer does not know the location of the unit on the bike to keep it secure. If the unit is ever disconnected from the bike it has a three day battery charge so it will keep on transmitting.

The best part is, if you bike is stolen and not recovered within 24-hours, you get the price of the unit back!

Basically, the unit we are offering is a new unit by Lojack that is not only the tracking unit, but also has an Early Warning system on it. If your bike is moved, started, or tipped, the unit will send a text, call, or email to you to let you know your bike is being moved! This is done via a key fob that needs to be in the vicinity of the bike to essentailly disarm the system.

*Bonus* Most insurance companies offer 20% of of your comprehesive insurance for having Lojack

MSRP - of the Early Warning and Tracking Unit $895 installed

    OR PRICE - $695 ($100 OR discount + $100 Lojack rebate til Aug 31st)

  6. For those of you that don't know I have been working at this bike shop on King Ave in Grandview for over a year now and I convinced the owner to sponsor us.

I just wanted to say that while we may be a scooter shop for the most part, we do have two other dealerships that are full line motorcycle dealers. Andrew's Cycle in Youngstown (some people may be familiar with it) and Chicago Cycle in Illinois are both run by the same family, point being if you need anything from parts to a new bike we can get it to you!

We will be offering as many deals as possible for OR members such as discounts on service and parts as well as a great deal on LoJack! Of course we do have scooters, pit bikes, and a few other things (which will be posted up shortly) that you will be hard pressed to find a better deal on in Columbus!

If anyone is in the area or needs anything let me know or stop in at the shop at 935 King Ave just west of Olentangy River Rd.

    Shop number is 614.294.2000

Glad to be able to sponsor the site!

  7. It may not take as much energy to roll the car as you think. I've seen an accident where a small car barely impacted a large delivery van in an intersection in town. Niether one was going fast the when the van driver saw the car coming, he jerked the steering wheel toward the oncoming car and gave it a bit of gas trying to move out of the way.... what happened was the impact side suspension was elongated and the opposite side was bottomed out during the impact...... the van rolled right over on its top amazingly easy!

funny i tried to say that earlier, that the driver may have jerked the steering wheel before, during, or after the impact causing a change that, coupled with the impact could have flipped the car.

  8. Might want to bump up the preload on the rear spring depending on how much your passenger weighs. Otherwise the bike will sag a lot in the rear and completely throw off the dynamics.

It will suck riding with a passenger. More clutch slipping and more RPM to get going. More brakes to stop, more planning your move, and way more attention to balance at lights, stop signs, and such.

hmmm...all the chicks i take on the bike i can barely tell they are back there:cool:
