  2. so what are these companies doing when they are not under contract from the government? Do they carry the same staff on less work, or do they hire workers thanks to the new contract? The customer creates the job, the business just scrapes a profit off the top.
  3. Miata is a good option... and hasnt been mentioned yet... I don't normally agree with swingset... but broken clocks and whatnot...
  4. well it is never just "A" bridge... bridges are everywhere, and constantly falling into disrepair, weathering, and wearing due to public use... If these bridges are constantly being repaired, and their maintenence is being supplied by taxpayers, then the government did create a permenet job (or at least part of one with each bridge) by creating that bridge.
  5. Niagara... just because.
  6. I was waiting for someone to post it so i could :repost: their thread...
  7. Based on this you have some valid points, but it appears we're already "footing the bill" so to speak... http://www.topuertorico.org/economy.shtml Does the change of relationship from territory to state change the benefit/cost relationship between the united states and PR?
  8. yes, just read the directions for dilution in gasoline. If it's a small tank, I'd do a 1/2 can per fill up... split the can into 2 treatments.
  9. Shoppers at London's Brent Cross mall may have thought they'd walked onto the set of a movie shoot on Tuesday morning. Fifteen minutes after the shopping center opened, a group of six black-clad robbers on three motorcycles rode through the second floor of the complex, wielding axes and bats. The thieves' destination was jewelry store Fraser Hart, where they grabbed Cartier and Rolex watches after smashing windows to get inside. The Metropolitan Police estimate their haul to be more than 2 million British pounds, or $3.1 million. Or maybe a little less: Witnesses noted that the robbers dropped some of their expensive loot as they sped away from the scene. Fortunately, no one was injured during the heist, and police are continuing to search for clues. Rick Triester was on his way to the Apple store at the mall at the time of the crime and was able to get video of the daring robbery and getaway on his phone, which got us to thinking ... how long before the drama turns up on the big screen for real? http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/trending-now/robbers-motorcycles-attack-mall-store-3-1-million-195725090.html
  10. you don't think their tourism and natural resources would outweigh the strain on social programs?
  11. Well, since we are not in the business of conquering and colonizing anymore, Puerto Rico and DC are really the last options for statehood (unless Newt gingrich grants statehood to moon bases) I can't really come up with any reasons why they shouldn't.
  12. Federal Government should have kept it's nose out of it to begin with...
  13. It seems a ballot measure in PR has passed by a somewhat narrow margin to petition for statehood. What are your thoughts?
  14. I guess if you get your news from the dropouts... (Hannity, Limbaugh, Beck) Everything I posted was factual... not a product of Rupert Murdoch.,
  15. holy cheese and rice, I agree with something serpent said... I'd put some seafoam through it first, it might be getting progressively worse and you haven't noticed because of how gradual it is.
  16. My favorite quote of the whole night was Lindsey Graham...
  17. what's wrong with the current field sobriety test? "competence" is what we should be testing for on the road, not BAC, or chemical levels... The question of whether or not you should be driving should only be dependent upon whether or not you have the ability to do so in your current physical/mental state. IMO Many people shouldn't be allowed to drive sober.
  18. the '98-2010 style were supposedly riddled with reliability issues. 2011-13 style is supposed to be a lot better.
  19. basic sociology: The group precedes the individual. People that voted for Johnson or Stein told me that I threw my vote away for writing in Ron Paul. It's this whole "party" mentality that we need to overcome.
  20. 99 problems but a mitt aint one...
  21. well, are you aware of his record?
