  1. I rather enjoy riding in the rain, and always have my raingear tucked away on the bike or in my jacket back pocket as a just in case. If you get caught in the rain you can always pull off under an overpass and wait it out or at least wait 15 minutes for the oil to be washed away.
  2. I might be offended if I didn't agree w/95% of those statements. Good thing my ride is water cooled and over 100HP
  3. this wasn't a 15yr old kid. This was an adult. No one "LET" him drink, just as no one "LET" him get on the bike w/out all the gear, no one "LET" him get on the bike drunk and do 130mph. He CHOSE to be a dumbass, and hopefully this will serve as his wake up call before he kills or injures someone else.
  4. Yeah, like others have said... had days like that, then just decide to do some leisure cruising and enjoy the sites and sounds, or turn around, go home, and grab a beer.
  5. I tried that w/my last surgery, and nurses aren't falling for that anymore! Glad you're still around to post, and hope you don't give up riding. I was hit by 2 cars in May '07, shattered right forearm and right jaw. Have 5 titanium plates w/20 screws holding my jaw together and a 15" titanium rod (yes that's right ladies:D) w/15 screws holding my forearm together. Jaw wired shut for 6 weeks, and about 6 months of therapy for my arm/wrist, but I got back on the horse as soon as I could roll the throttle. Glad as hell you made it through and surgery went well, but don't sell the bike until you're completely off the drugs. Diladed is great, but it spikes you BP
  6. :them: the dehydration usually doesn't hit me until I park the bike and forget to put the stand down. It was prob that chick's husband:eek: Glad you're OK
  7. we're not gonna start preaching now are we?
  8. it worked for me in a very similar situation while in Panama. So how did things work out for you?
  9. hmmm what time is the Pony gig?
  10. only 20% chance of rain..... I'm in. Out of curiosity, why do folks meet up at Shell instead of just going to QSL?
  11. I'm off to CA to do some house shopping, but will be back in two weeks. I was hoping that we could get a few volunteers to take on the QSL nuclear wings challenge with me... You have to eat 12 wings, no time limit, but I'm giving you an hour. Figured it would be May 6, any takers?
  12. If you ever happen to make it to the area I would be more than happy to let you take it for a spin.... minus the kids.
  13. They pushed a similar initiative years ago in regards to roofing materials and colors. It's a proven science in a state that receives more than 300 days a year of sunshine. I realize that most of the Ohio natives here don't realize what type of strain having 200+ days a year which require 80% of households to run their A/C units. If I have to choose between not purchasing a dark colored car or not having rolling brown outs, I'll give up the car colors!
  14. I'll be in CA and may or may not make it back before you ship out. Good luck and keep your head down and on a swivel! Quite of few of those deployed and private US business folks have bikes over there.
  15. You had me at beer! Just sent you an email Chris. You should have posted up here on sooner. Ordered tires earlier in week and they're on the way, would have been much simpler to ship direct to you!
