It sounds to me like possibly a shim from one of your calipers is catching on the rotor, sending it into a frenzy. If you look at your calipers you will see thin metal sticking out past the pads... if you flick these can you re-produce the sound?

I had one in an R6, +4 I believe. Seemed to improve throttle response, nothing more. For the $50ish I would say its worth it. (as others have said as long as you aren't pinging)

It's definitely cupped. Just like car tires, lots of things can contribute. Tire pressure, balance, suspension adjustment (or lack of), etc.

if you have a cracked touch there are a few apps that tweak the sound..
