  2. most replies in this thread had me cracking up. damn nice tongue twister.
  3. He clearly stated the DVD player does not have HDMI. Re-read his post then try to bitch about mis-information. :nutkick:

    floor mats

I use old mats like that to catch spilled oil from oil changes, or under the rotor when you are doing a brake overhaul. Keeps the rust/oil/penetrating fluid from hitting your garage floor. Just an idea.
  5. MJ USA will do it, but I have heard of them screwing people who they dont know.
  6. use HDMI for the cable box and component for the DVD. If it is a DVR box, I believe you will want coax from the box to the TV also, for viewing std def channels without bars on the sides, unless you want to zoom on the TV each time.
  7. I got one for ya. Dual 10", sealed. Quality box, bottom corners are a little beat up. What is it worth to you?
  8. looks like a bunch of stars to me, but still very cool.
  9. Is this a Dell? It should have came with 2 cds - OEM vista disc and drivers/utilities disc. Format and install only the OS. The Vista and IE7 combo is actually more protected from spyware than xp/IE combo, not sure how you caught something so quick, it was probably already loaded. That said I dont recommend IE.
  10. Should have bought the $1000 model from lowes and kept it in the box until you needed it. If you didnt, then take it back and when you could really afford it, buy it. Now you are stuck with a POS. oh well, funny story.
  11. Does that mean OBO? What's the deal with the lights, do they work when the throttle is pegged? I have a friend who has been looking for one of these, I sent him the info.
  12. Toyota truck converters are getting ripped off more and more since they contain some of the higher levels of platinum. There is always people on craigslist looking for scrap metal..
  13. I dont understand why every house in Hurricane territory doesn't have real shutters. I just watched a news segment that showed someone boarding up their windows, right beside the "fake" shutters.
  14. Anyone been? Looks like it might be OK. http://www.hockinghillscanopytours.com/
  15. I recommend a Honda. Quality, quiet, simple starting even in freezing temps after sitting for months. You will pay for it though.
  16. I was able to get my converter at radio shack years ago, I assume they still carry them. Not bad sound at all actually.
  17. Thanks man, make no mistake I'm on a budget too, heh. Its taken me a while to get where I am now, which is nowhere near where I want to be equipment wise.
  18. Nah just a 250... most of those are cropped. One of the reasons I like turn 1, its one of the few places where you can get close without a fence in the way.
  19. I have to disagree about the stereotype of what decisions are made. Anyone can make a split second bad decision, in fact we all do. It comes down to who is unlucky enough to get bit. I wouldn't mind seeing a size restriction on bikes for a year much like the helmet law, at least under a certain age. Prayers to his family.
  20. Not to my knowledge, talk to a Nikon person and they will sell you one of those like we are the Canons
  21. Definitely sounds like you are ready to step up (over?) to a Digital SLR. The Canon Rebel series was designed for the inspiring photographer who wants to move from a p&s to a DSLR. I started with a Rebel and moved to a XT. I am trying to stick to this body for now and invest in some quality glass. My biggest piece of advice is to choose a brand and stick with it. See if you can shoot with some different brands (ok Nikon and Canon) and see which one is more comfy, intuitive, etc. The beauty of staying with one brand is once you start building your lens collection you dont have to buy new lenses every time you upgrade the body. Being Canon biased, I would recommend trying to find a closeout XTi (one gen old) body, and spending the rest on lenses. Just because you have $1K to spend doesnt mean you should. For about $700 you can get an XTi with a kit lens. This will get you started. Put the extra into your accessories and post-processing software. You see a lot of cheap used DSLR cameras for sale because people think purchasing one makes you an awesome photographer, and they end up getting discouraged. I'm not real well versed in Nikon so I dont know what the comparable body to the Canon rebel series is. *edit: just checked prices, the XSi kit is probably worth the extra $100 it seems to run. I also want to clarify not ALL canon lenses work with ALL canon bodies I dont believe.
