good to hear... a couple of years ago my buddy lost his wallet while camping in PA (mt. morris moto-x for those who care). We searched everywhere for it, but being outdoors and the masses of people, we never found it. A week later he got it in the mail but all his cash was gone. if you are in a development, most likely there has been an increase in subscribers. In other words, the signal is split that many more times. They will/should come out and install an amplifier on your line (or before it). Otherwise, the drop cable from the pole to your house could be damaged (but that rarely happens.) Try not to let them talk you into digging up your yard to replace the drop, then having a cable on your lawn for 6 weeks before they show up to re-bury it, only to find that was not the problem. (been there done that)

One of my friends has one that has a few bad pixels. its a 15" HP. Still very usable, but a little annoying. I can get a price if ya want.

You want a unit that has an internal amplifier definitely, but pre-amp outputs are not needed if you dont plan on using external amplifiers. However, I am guessing pretty much all mp3/cd decks will have at least one pair of pre-amp outputs onboard anyway. I just picked up an older kenwood MP425 for about $160. Pretty neat, but I did notice that many songs will have glitches that you cant hear on the PC. The only exception is if your car has factory amps, and they require low-level inputs. Then you want pre-amp outs on your deck.

I dont know what exactly you want, but you could probably go to a hardware store and pick up some wire fence (chicken wire?) and some clamps and make your own for pretty cheap.

They are probably selling them because they are still junk (engines/drivetrain) even though they are "pimped" (interior/exterior). I liked the landcruiser before they touched it. It had potential.
