  1. I guess I worded it that way because I was once pulled over on my bike years ago, and that's what the officer did. By the time that he got out of the car, my keys and helmet were on the ground next to the bike. I then waited for him to approach me and ask for my license and reg. prior to reaching for it.
  2. So... The officer jumped out of the car, yells something incoherent (or at least I couldn't make out the command from the video), and shot the dude the second he turned around. Then, while the guy's on the ground, the officer decides to command that he puts his hands up... Perhaps clearly commanding that the rider placed his keys on the ground, and raise both hands (before getting out of the car) would have been a smart move. But then again, it's easy for me to armchair quarterback this one.
  3. I'm speechless. What makes it worse is the clip from the court when his attorney states that the guy "turned and pulled his arm back. He could have raised his left hand, but did nothing with his left." Insinuating that by doing so, the rider could have posed a threat to the officer. I'm just speculating here, but it appeared as if he turned around so that he could see the officer, and where he was... And as we all know, it's nearly impossible to turn one's body like that on a bike without moving your arm and pivoting at the waist because your neck isn't made of rubber.
  4. Can't help you there, but I know a girl in VA selling a stock '01 GSXR 750 with 9K mi. for $4K.
  5. DO IT MAN!!! I don't have fabrication skills, but I'd be more than happy to help with assembly, or even just bringing beer and laughs...
  6. For some reason, I thought that enforcement had already started. I was thinking about it last night as some arsebeetle was drifting into my lane whilst furiously massaging the QWERTY keypad.
  7. C'mon ladies... Someone make it out. I don't want to see the team have to forfeit.
  8. Queen! Happy Mutha-Effen Birthday:D Good luck if you're racing... And good luck trying to maintain your liver!
  9. No Comment. Good luck with the sale though. Life's short. Do what makes you happy!
  10. Sorry about you misfortune... Glad that you're okay, and hope that you get the Ape fixed up and on the road soon.
  11. The sad part is that if the cop would have simply opened the door and shown his BADGE... The rider (who may be a rational guy, though this isn't evidenced by his riding) may have just shut off the bike, camera, and removed his helmet to accept his ticket. Or maybe he could have just allowed the officer in the marked car (who's probably wearing a uniform) make the arrest... I mean, it's not like he's going to get a commission for closing the arrest or anything. I mean honestly... If you're riding along, and someone emerges from an unmarked car with windows that look like they were painted black, brandishing a semi-automatic weapon... Would you expect that cat to be law enforcement, or someone who's about to put two in your chest and ride off with your sh*t? ESPECIALLY in MD!
  12. Say it ain't so!!! Give her another shot. The first weekend that I had mine, I went to work on Monday feeling like my ass got caught in a blender! I was sore, tight, and generally pissed off (until I pulled into the garage after work and saw her staring at me). If it's really that uncomfortable (it is for a lot of people), there are a few remedies if you cannot sell: 1. Adjustable rear sets. I don't have them, but they do make a difference 2. Bar risers. I saw an older gentleman in Polaris with them on his '04 like two years ago. Says that he was thinking of trading the bike until he installed the risers. Kinda looks funny, but function trumps form in my book. At any rate, good luck with your decision.
  13. Sorry to hear that you went down kiddo! Glad that you're ok. Hope that you heal up fast and get back out there soon.
  14. If you've got the time hit Wine Country (Sonoma is moderately LESS stuffy than Napa). Tastings will be relatively inexpensive. Great food, and unbelievable scenery.
