  1. Hoblick

    Iron Pony A+

on two occasions actually. first i went with my buddy to help him with a boot purchase. He end up finding a set of boots he wanted, but not in his size. Derek was very helpful as usual, and got a pair ordered up for him, which came in at the time he said they would. On top of that, Pony even matched an online price for him. next, i went in to look at intercoms, already kinda decided on the Sena SMH10 dual pack, and wanted to see if they had them in stock. didn't have any on the shelf at the intercom desk area, so i went and talked to derek, he found it in the back and brought them up to the counter. I told him about an email i just got from CompAcc.com and they had them on sale for $249.99, he matched that price and i handed my money over. props to pony for the great information to help my buddy in his boot decision, having something i wanted in stock , and even more so for the price matching. this really changes my buying habits if they keep this up. If they will match online pricing, id rather buy it from Pony. a few bucks difference was never a big deal for me, or the tax, but some items (like the intercoms i bought) were stickered in the store for over $100 more than i found them numerous places online. seeing them match that price makes me happy. I'm sure they will loose less customers by doing this.
  2. I have rocked the Triumph ones but that's beside the point. On the triple it was a strap on. What I didn't like about it was the straps catching air an beating on my leg. It was like getting flipped with a towel. Didn't hurt but started to sting after about 100 little flips. The sprint has a cover over the whole tank and the bag is just in the way. So I rock the map bag only. But I can operate my phone through the map bag which is kinda nice. Motorcycle super store throws up a daily sale on tank bags fairly often and they are relatively cheap too. I would keep an eye out for that. Or buy a sena head set for you and Jenn and stuff gps anywhere and let it talk to you while rocking out.
  3. I was using skullcandy "the fix" headphones and they were great, until I got a sena Sent from my iPhone.
  4. I'm with cdubs...I spent the extra $30 and just got my Sena which was a fantastic decision over messing with ear buds anymore
  5. Go to the Sena website and get the updates. They recently had an update.
  6. S voice works great for me, the wake up command not so much, i too usually use the phone button. When i first got the Sena i had trouble with it dialing a couple names but i just had to tweak them. For example my wife's name is Becky and it had trouble identifying that so i changed it to Rebecca, and i used to have my mom's number in as "moms cell" and had to change that to her name, but no big deal.
  7. How does s voice work for you? Does the wake up command work without hitting the phone button on the Sena? The only reason I switched to the Google voice dialer is my last name is not good for voice dialing. Whenever I tried to call family members I was having issues. To be fair, I only tried it a handful of times before reverting to Google. It was what I used on my old phone.
  8. Voice commands in general work decent and the dialer is usually spot on, but as a added bonus on the Galaxy phones your supposed to be able to shout out a wake up command("hi galaxy"is the default) and never have to touch any thing, this is what I was referring to that is hit or miss. Plus with the mp3 player you can just say next, previous, pause, play, volume up, volume down. And not have to touch anything, but I usually just end up using the jog dial on the sena. But once S voice has been initiated I have no problems
  9. Are there any dealers in Ohio that would have this in stock? Sena says iron pony is a dealer but don't see anything sena besides a headset lol Sent from my iPhone.
  10. I think it possible with Sena but other optional accessories would be required. Sounds like too many distractions for me. I like my 2 way, mp3, and ability to take a call if needed. I'll use gps though my phone too if needed but in getting ready to mount a larger screen Garmin where I won't need the sound
  11. I'm pretty sure the Sena does almost all if not all of thar
  12. Sena. And with newest update you should be able to chat with other headsets.
  13. Sena SMH-10. I'm biased and love mine and it's the only one I've ever used but I have zero complaints
  14. I also have the Sena SMH10 and love it. If you go with the Sena, make sure to do the firmware updates to keep up with the improvements over time. It is easy and only takes a few minutes.
  15. Sena is awesome I love mine, they have great support and customer service. they just release the new firmware for the smh10 and lots of new cool features
  16. 5.0 is now released..look like the best one yet Sena Technologies, Inc. released the firmware version 5.0 of the SMH10 with major enhancements in functions and features such as Universal Intercom and Advanced Noise Control™. - Universal Intercom: You can have an intercom conversation with non-Sena Bluetooth headsets using the Universal Intercom™ function. - Advanced Noise Control™: It is equipped with wind noise suppression and intelligent Noise Gate in the intercom to limit the interference of wind noise and background noise while riding. - Sidetone: If this feature is enabled, you can hear what you are speaking during an intercom conversation or a phone call. You can upgrade your firmware using the new Device Manager v1.4.4 for Windows and v1.9.4 for Mac users. http://senabluetooth.com/sena-released-smh10-firmware-version-5-0/
  17. Thanks mike , I did a bunch of reading late last night about Sena and agree with both of you.
  18. If your wife rides with you on out of town trips, you may want to check out the Givi E55 trunk. It can hold 2 full face helmets. That leaves the 2 hard saddle bags for other stuff. I have a Shark Audio 250w system that was put on by the previous owner. I only use it while riding around with my kids. Here is a link if interested: Like Tim said, the Sena in helmet Bluetooth system is the way to go. I have it and can't recommend it highly enough. (Except for when you get work calls in rush hour traffic on the freeway. The phone will cut off the tunes until the call goes to voicemail)
  19. I wasnt a fan of the top box at first either but when i was out west last summer i couldn't imagine being with out it. I have the 39L kaw box with matching trim, but they make a 47L one too. Any bigger than the 39L I would replace the rear rack with a metal one, the stockers are plastic and known to break. I still have the plastic one on mine but i keep a eye open for cracking. The side cases will hold more than you think. FYI a second one would fit in the lid if it wasnt too heavy...LOL As far as tunes go look into the Sena SMH-10 Bluetooth i love mine, you can listen to tunes, use hands free on your phone and even patch in your GPS Nav, and have bike to bike communication.
  20. You may need to update the software on your Sena. I have the standard SMH10,and there was an update that significantly uncreased the maximum volume coming from the speakers. The updates are pretty easy to do.
  21. Only problem I have had with mine is the first set my wife had would randomly shut down. Called sena they sent me another one in the mail got it in like 3 days didn't even have to send the other one back until I got the replacement. Other than that I freaking love mine
  22. FWIW, I have the Garmon 2595 mounted on my left clutch reservoir cap using a ram ball mount. When it rains, I use a freezer bag and small piece of duct tape. I have a ram ball mount on the right handle bar that holds my cell phone. I can see both pretty easily while I ride. I use my phone for music and occasional phone calls. My Sena allows the voicecontrol over the phone's functions. I rarely use my phone for navigation, because it pauses the music coming thru the Sena. I strictly use the gps for directions. I just occasionally need to look at it. It is located so that I see it before I see my rearview mirror. I don't miss listening to the directions verbally from the gps. As far as power goes, my gps is hard wired to the battery. On all day trips, I use my auxillary power to charge either my cell phone or my backup Sena blue tooth as needed. Over some pretty long rides, I have found this set up pretty efficient and cost effective.
