  3. Developed hand-in-hand with the engineers at Shoei, the SRL2 communication system from SENA is one of the slickest setups we’ve ever seen for bike-to-bike comms. The system fits perfectly within the GT-Air II or Neotec II helmet with its wires secreted behind the helmet’s liner and all of its controls, battery and earphones snap into place with ease. It’ll take you about ten minutes to wire up the helmet and you’ll be ready for the road. And since everything is purpose-built to work together, you won’t have any odd protrusions that whistle on your helmet, nor is the setup uncomfortable on the ears thanks to the integrated headphone pockets. The wiring shown below will be hidden behind the cheekpads and liner Functionally-speaking, the SRL2 allows you to connect a phone via Bluetooth and speak with up to seven other riders within a one mile line-of-sight radius. It’s even compatible with other non-SENA devices thanks to integrated Universal Intercom programming. You’ll be able to listen to music, take calls and speak with other riders while you’re at speed. The sound coming through is surprisingly clear, too with SENA’s Advanced Noise Control system. This programming attenuates sound output so you can clearly hear everything through wind and road noise. It’s a rather impressive feat in and of itself! Configuring the device to accept voice commands is easy thanks to the iOS or Android Sena Smartphone App. You’ll be able to configure the device’s settings, and - if you’re trying to meet up with other riders that are out of radio range, you can use the RideConnected function that turns your mobile phone into an intercom. You can speak to just about anyone on a cellular network with this set up! For riders that need to stay in contact with everyone, no other device compares! To get your communicator, and if you don’t already have a GT-Air II or Neotec II helmet we can help with that, too - call Mike on 866.931.6644 ext. 818, send a note to forum@ridersdiscount.com with SENA SRL2 COMMUNICATOR in the subject line, or just shoot us a PM and we’ll get back to you right away.
  4. Which app Sena app have you downloaded from App Store. There are quite a few. Some called Sena utility and some others
  5. https://www.amazon.com/Sena-BT0003006-Motorcycle-Bluetooth-Intercom/dp/B00NBSI4MY Bought this bluetooth rig before the helmets changed up and parts dried up. Works great, took a while to set up and pair bluetooth and learn the controls. Was able to hear incoming phone calls and the Waze navigation app and stuff ok. Heard the sound isn't real good with the stock speakers, but sounds great to me and plenty loud enough (using both volume controls). I bet some people put the speakers in backwards. Tested with various sound check sample tracks. My old phone doesn't have enough space for storing music. I need a new phone I guess. Wasn't sure if using phone or an mp3 player would be better. Mostly an issue of battery life and recharging time. Best option might be the ability to do either as required. The old phone streaming Pandora uses up the battery quite quick, and heard the battery in the Sena comm unit might not last too long either. So plugging in an mp3 player would have been a nice option, but the 3.5 input jack isn't there. Apparently the correct helmet kit doesn't come with that mic and phones unit. If buying individual parts, there is a different unit that has the 3.5 input jack. BUT, then I read reviews that that 3.5 jack breaks way too easy anyway. So for an extra 35 bucks, maybe, maybe not worth it. Tried my passive (not active) noise suppression earbuds for the mp3 under the helmet with the new speakers in place, and seemed like no difference in fit and comfort. It should be ok to have both in place if I want to. The Bell Mag-9 is the quietest helmet I've ever had. I can use it without stuff plugged in my ears and it's quiet enough. But when earbuds or earplugs are in place, it lets in a little more noise at higher freeway speeds. You never know till you try... edit: comm unit wouldn't charge using an old worn usb cable. Bad connection. Had to use a fresh usb charging cable. edit again: out going phone calls with voice control didn't work. The phone can hear me, but it goofs up what I tell it. Phones fault, I guess. Again, I need a new phone.
  6. I've had an smh10 for a few years now and while it was initially a good product, I ended up ripping mine out today for a number of reasons. They don't fit bell star helmets. My last star was a 2011 model I bought used off of a forum member. I had to alter the helmet to clamp the sena on. I resorted to this after the 2nd adhesive panel failed. Even then, it would need tightened periodically or it would let go while riding and dangle by the wires. Bought a brand new bell race star helmet this year and no fucking way was I going to take a razor to it just to mount my sena, so I ordered a new adhesive mounting kit, cleaned my brand new, never rode helmet with the alcohol pad and stuck it on. Lasted less than 1000 miles before it let go. It had also been cutting out last year and continued to get worse this year, not sure if wires, pins or internal electronic issue but it was fucking annoying. The speakers took up so much space in the ear recesses that my ears would get pinned down against my head, not comfortable. So there, I'm pretty much done bitching about it. You want it? $100 obo.
  7. Like new condition, comes with boxes and extra mounts, again this is a 2 pack. $250 no trades, cash only!
  8. Has anybody found a plug and play option for upgrading Sena Speakers? The 10S does have an earbud jack so I could go that way if I had to but I don't really want to deal with the wires.
  9. Sena Technologies has been a leader in motorcycle communication technology since their inception in 1998. Here we feature the new Sena 30K Communication System. 11. Earlier this year, I bought a new Neotec and Sena 10U from @RidersDiscount. And let me just state for the record, that Mike has gone ABOVE AND BEYOND what any would expect from a company. Thanks for everything you've done good sir. It's not your fault these guys are asshats... ANYWHO...get the unit installed and charged and immediately out of the box, the remote doesn't work. Doesn't hold a charge, doesn't do jack squat. Contact Mike, he says to contact Sena as that's what they want. Takes a few days for them to respond, and do the usual drivel of reset it, do what the manual says, yadda yadda yadda. So I finally get the RMA to send the remote back in for replacement under warranty. I end up having to harrass them for when it will be sent back as this was right at the time @JustinNck1 and I were heading down to Maggie Valley. Eventually they managed to get the remote to me the day before we left. And thankfully, this one worked as it should. Now let me also add that during this time I've been using the 10U without the remote. I'd only been getting at the most 6 hours of time before the battery shuts down. Now I know that is crap since lots of others have been getting double that easily. It gets to the point that while on our trip we have to pull off, plug it into a battery pack to charge for a bit, then unplug it to resume use. It gets old really fast. So, when we get back, I make contact again with my displeasure of the terrible battery life stating how others are getting MUCH better results than I am. I get the run around of try a reset, maybe a wire is pinched, a real line of BS basically. Kept in contact with Mike, to where he made some phone calls himself and finally got it to where they will do another RMA for the entire unit. Again, this is not something that he had to do, but willingly did it of his own accord. He has my business for life now. Get an email on 28th of June FINALLY saying a replacement will be shipped but gave no tracking info or anything. I wait. Emailed them yesterday stating I was curious as to when this will ship out since there was no tracking info attached. Get told that the 10U is now on backorder and they have no idea when it will ship. I'm getting pretty pissed. You pay good money for a product, hoping that it will work great like all the others do. Get maybe a couple months of use out of it and it is a total turd. Company is a pain in the ass to deal with. So if anyone else has to do a return with Sena for any reason..be prepared.

    Sena

I got my Sena mount for my Bell helmet from Amazon today. Got the Sena mounted and paired to my phone and my TomTom GPS. Of course I had to go to Sena's site to download the manual. Whatever happened to paper manuals coming with the electronics that you buy?
  15. I have a used set of Sena SMH10 headsets that work great, I just upgraded to the 20S so no longer need these. Still have box and all hardware and accessories with the exception of 1 usb cable. Looking to get $125 for the set.
  16. If you haven't seen it before (I didn't until today), Sena has a remote that works with a number of their BT communicators. I have been personally struggling with where to put the remote that came with my 10U unit and this is a better alternative IMO. There's just not a lot of room on my grips on the SXR to put the original remote because of the built in jog dial interface on the clutch side grip of the bike. https://www.sena.com/product/rc3/ Maybe it's been out a while but I didn't see anything posted on here about it.

    Sena SMH10

I've been hanging on to select pieces of gear just in case but think it's time to let this one go to a home that will get used $100 obo
  18. Have had zero luck getting the sena goPro bakpak to pick up a 2nd rider. We r using the 10S Sena. As soon as the 2nd rider connects, the gopro drops out and records no audio. And it's very hard for me to troubleshoot, because my riding buddy with the other Sena lives 100 miles away. Any help is appreciated.
  19. http://www.sena.com/rideconnected-app/ Allows you to communicate in large radius groups with large groups of people as long as you have mobile service. Should really push the envelope in group intercom. All SENA products are compatible as well as long as they have the current firmware. Thoughts? @Tonik Needs to get it so we can talk to him without linking to his sena..
  20. I have a Sena SMH10R and use an iPhone 7. Ever since I updated iOS to version 10 I have lost things that I used to be able to do. After the screen has gone to the lock screen I cannot answer an incoming call from the Sena. Also, I used to be able to do voice commands to play a different album, etc. It seems the problem is that Apple changed the wake up sequence from "home button, swipe right" to "home button, home button" and the Sena doesn't handle that. The Sena support people have not been helpful. They just tell me to reset the Sena. They will not answer a simple question - do you have an update that will let the Sena work with an iPhone running iOS 10? Frustrating. My Plantronics E550 earbud has the same problem. If you have a Sena and an iPhone, you might want to wait to update to iOS 10. Has anybody else seen this problem? Found a solution? Chris
  21. For those with experience in the helmet com/headset arena, what are your recommendations as far as models and the like go? Are there any comparable products to what Sena makes from another manufacturer? I'm looking for something to tap into phone via bluetooth and listen to music, directions and from time to time BS with people I'm riding with. Built-in camera and all that isn't important to me. Looking through reviews online, there are so many different models and each model seems to have things they are good at and things that should just be swept under the rug... I'd like to hear from people with first hand experience if at all possible.
  22. I'm selling my Nolan N90 Modular helmet with Sena SMH10 blue tooth already mounted and ready to go, size XL This is my personal helmet that I've been rocking for a couple of years and to date it has been my favoite helmet. It's quite, breaths well, has the ratcheting chin strap, flip down sun visor, comes with pinlock anti fog shield. Nolan is a top quality helmet that are made to last. I'm only selling to upgrade to a Neotec with the Sena 10U. Last time I wore th is helmet was yesterday and there is NOTHING wrong with it, everything works as it should and is tight and rite. There is only a couple scuffs on one side and I'll show them in one of the pictures below. The liner is removable and washable and I will be washing it previous to anyone buying it. I do not smoke, do not chew tobacco so it will be clean inside and out. There won't even find a bug on it. I take care of my stuff ask any bubby that knows me. This was $250 helmet when i bought it new and the SMH10 currently sells for $140 so brand new this rig would have been $390 I'm selling for 1/3 the price. at $125 to O.R. peeps. It will come with every thing in the pics below. Helmet Bag Pinlock anti fog shield(new last fall) Breath guard (never used) Chin skirt (never used) SMH10 with boom mike (preinstalled) DC Charger (never used) All extra audio cords and mounting hardware that came with the Sena I'm will to deliver to a extent if its a nice day and I can ride the bike
  23. OK, first thing I want to say is thank you to Mike at Riders Discount. He gave me one heck of a deal on this system and I couldn't be happier. I wanted this headset due to my SMH10 has some age on it, and it has served me well. Nothing wrong with it, just thought it was time for an upgrade. So the 10U is build for the Neotec, everything is exact fit, which made install a breeze. I had the SMH10 removed and the 10U installed in less than 20 minutes. I charged everything up and started playing with all the settings. I will say, the remote will take some getting used to, but it makes it so much nicer by keeping your hands on the bars. If your someone who keeps your hands towards the inside of the grip, you might have issues. My pinkie fingers naturally rest on the bar ends, so I had no clearance issues. The clamp does come pretty close to the clutch lever when squeezed in though. My phone paired right up no issues, connected to my dad's Sena 20s in intercom mode, no issues. My first ride out, i noticed how much quieter my helmet is without having the unit on the side. The speaker quality seems better than the SMH10 and plenty of loudness. I do not wear ear plugs, but it would be plenty loud enough even if you were. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. Once again, thanks to Mike at Riders Discount for giving an awesome discount, and using my 10U for the photo shoot. Here are some pictures of the unit installed on my helmet and the handlebar controller.
  24. Invisible from the outside, the Sena 10U Communication System is a built-in system that allows you to talk with up to four people within 1.6 kilometers thanks to Bluetooth Technology. You can also listen to your favorite radio station by activating the integrated programmable FM tuner. The Bluetooth Handlebar Remote is easy to use with gloves, allowing you to focus on the road rather than the device. The 10U is equipped with special noise control that blocks out distracting sounds such as wind, while still allowing you to be aware of your surroundings. MSRP$299.00 The Sena is easy to install, so you don't have to send your helmet out. The Sena 10U is available for the following helmets: Shoei GT-AIR Shoei Neotec Schuberth C3/C3 PRO All Arai Full Faced Helmets Pictured above is the Sena 10C, an external communication system. As you can see, the external system looks much different than the Sena 10U, which is pictured below. Pictured above is the Sena 10U installed on a Shoei Borealis Neotec If you have any questions about the product or would like to place an order, feel free to give MIKE a call at 866.931.6644 ext. 804.
