pin lock anti fog system

I just received my new helmet it came with the pinlock insert and cover. Is there anyone here who uses them and should I install it or leave it off. It's on a hjc rpha-10

Use it when it is cold, it works incredibly well for keeping off the fog. It does distort a little and it does cut down on light at night but in the cold it is VERY worth it.  Be aware, it scratches VERY easily. So if you really need to clean it do it in a pan of soapy water and just swish it around and then rinse it real good with clear water. If you rub it with anything it will scratch.

I have one in my helmet.  The instructions say it is not for night use because it is 10% shade (something like that).  I use it day/night, hot/cold.  It works very well for fog and I don't really notice it any other time.  It is clear and fine for night use in my experience.

My HJC has the Pinlock insert.  I've had mild fogging

until I get moving and get some airflow through the

helmet.  The inserts come in different tints.  I got a

clear with the helmet and bought a dark tint for riding

into the sun.  That doesn't work so well.  There was

a lot of glare and it wasn't like wearing sunglasses,

like I thought it would be.  I use Bugslide on my helmet

and plastics.  Possibly the glare was from that.

I also lost a pin from my helmet but an extra one came

with it.  I looked up pinlock, online, and gave them a

call.  They sent me some extras just in case I lost

another one.  Make sure the pins are locked all the

way on.
