My company has 3 openings. 2 for Sales Engineers and 1 for a Sr. Project Manager.  Engineering degrees are preferred.

Ahh! the question of the year. I don't think it's necessary but I'm surrounded by engineers and they think it is.  I think if you had a strong background in industrial applications, you would at least make it to an interview.  No IT backgrounds, it doesn't transfer to our type of business.
