3.504
I read a top 10 list of modern bikes on Facebook recently. The list went back to 2004 and I feel was missing a few. Thought I'd make my own, get some input, and invite you to make your own. This list will be comprised of any type of bike made in modern years from 2010 and up. There are so many greats out there, and this will be my opinion the best of the best. #10. 2012 BMW R1200GS adventure an impressive machine. I first encountered one in 2012 while making a pass south bound on 129 through deals gap. I was rolling a decent pace, running a smooth 3rd gear decent through the dragon. As I crossed the Tennessee/North Carolina state line, I stood up on the pegs to stretch and to make a "spine adjustment", as a chiropractor would call it, when low and behold what had been on my rear tire the entire pass? a completely loaded down R1200GS. Needless to say, I was impressed. #9. 2014 Beta 350rr factory Unbelievable enduro machine. beautiful, heavily equiped, and the first time i've ever seen a 140 rear tire on a dirt bike! wow! I've lusted after this one for a while, but the price tag is hefty for something i'll use a handful of times a year. #8. 2014 EBR 1190 RX no matter your opinion on the former BUELL motorcycles, the new EBR lineup includes 2 great machines. The flagship of which, the 1190 RX, is really proving to be a contender in the super bike genre. I'm proud of Erik Buell, what a great comeback. #7. Honda Grom if you dont love the honda grom, theres something wrong with you. I had the privilege of owning one for about 2 months. big mistake letting that one go. nothing like a 20 mile ride, 2up with your lady, on a mini bike, to grab a bagel. #6. 2012 BMW S1000 RR the great white shark. massive horsepower, redesigned chassis geometry, huge electronics package, quirky looks, 3 year warrenty... the S1K had it all. unbelievable package for the price at only $500 more than any japanese competitor. #5. 2011 BMW K1600GTL because bmw flagship tourer. enough said. #4 2015 MV Agusta Brutale Dragster 800 RR seriously, its probably the most beautiful bike I've ever seen. just look at it. its honestly not even that great of a bike, theres way better choices... but just look at it. #3 2012 Ducati panigale linup This one was a game changer for Ducati. this bike single handedly saved Ducati with the highest sales in company history. i believe this bike had some serious Audi ownership influence, which was important to put the brand on the right track to success. It didn't just save ducati though, it also happens to be one of the best looking bikes ever made, has that italian sex appeal that ducati is known for, and the balls to back it up. #2 KTM 1290 superduke R the austrian death machine. KTM made a seriously pointless motorcycle that is so great and wonderful I dont care that it doesn't really fit into any certain category very well. brutal, sleek, loud... all things that really make me want to ride a wheelie on one. ...and my #1 modern bike of the 2010's is: #1. 2014 Aprilia RSV4 factory The exhaust note, the power, the finesse, italian exotic'ness... yep... i wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating crackers. If I had the means, it would already be on stands in my garage, wearing a full set of race plastics of course. ^^^thats what bored at work looks like.
