flashesbuck
Sorry, I just have to rant a little. I have been trying to sell off my Old Suzuki bandit for some time now. And i get TONS of people that think its only worth $1000-1200, a few at $1500. I get so sick of this crap. People wont even bother to come look at the bike, they just shoot me a Txt with a $1200 ovffer out of the blue and nothing else. One guy had the nerve to tell me that there is no way its ever work "what im asking" I have the bike listed at $2300 OBO. I like to buy a beat down, broken bike, in the dead of winter, then save it, work on, in the spring and then flip it in the spring/summer. I do it more for the learning experiance, and the excuse to buy the proper tools. This bike turned out beautiful, and I wouldn't even care if I broke even on it. I just get aggravated by these looser. I typical response to someone that says its only worth $1200, is to show me a great running 600cc sportbike, with ZERO issues, thats ready to ride, and looks this nice for less than $2K Sorry,

Tonik
That is the way CL works for everything. Damn that is a good looking bike.
Bad324
If you're going to list on Craigslist, you should expect this as the norm. People who get offended by low ball offers crack me up. I just ignore them. Or if I'm bored, I'll ask them for the logic behind their offer and mess with them a bit. But more than not I just don't answer and I don't get offended
ScubaCinci
This is why I hate selling things on CL. Buying things is almost as bad as it appears most people are on the verge of being illiterate and have no idea the kind of things that should appear in the proper ad like, mileage, condition, location, etc. SMH

JustinNck1
Welcome. Older used bikes are just not selling for good value right now IMO. Also, its on the fall end of the season, which is not a good time to sell bikes compared to spring. I'm not sure of the details of the bike(year, mileage, etc), but NADA Clean Retail on a 03 Bandit 600 is right at $2000. I know NADA means nothing on a clean bike (This one looks very clean), but thats how some people consider a bikes value. That bend in the front wheel doesn't help matters. durk
Flashesbuck I understand your frustration. I often buy and sell bikes on CL as well and you come to expect these kind of things. You may even get offered a pool table here since you posted on this forum. I sold 2 bikes this summer and both of them came from Cycletrader ads I posted. You can post there for free for 2 weeks. Both of those transactions went smoother than any bike I have sold on CL. I personally post my bikes at blue book value if there clean and the mileage is good. Sold my own personal bike for $700 under book because it had 34,000 miles. Nice looking bike. GLWS

2talltim
I can't talk I do this too. I usually low ball and hope to meet in the middle. I do this because most CL sellers want to jack their prices up and ask way over true value. Plus I hope the flash of cash is worth it to some people and I can get a seal every now and then. I won't beat down what they are selling, I'll just say hey this is what I have and if you'll take it, it will be a quick easy sell. If they say no I'll walk or make a better offer, no disrespect or trash talking.
2talltim
Oh yea , and that's a clever way of sneaking in a FS ad on you first post.

ScubaCinci
On first look, I thought that was the 1200cc version,. That's a sharp bike...in spring time, buyers will be tripping over themselves to get it. Also, you might consider putting an ad on the Advrider site...it gets a lot of traffic and likely less dealing with people who want to trade a goat and a pool table.

Craigslist is a numbers game. Throw out offers I like to enough people and maybe one of them will stick
swingset
Nice bike, not worth what you're asking. I'll give you $1150, but I won't come look at it.
redkow97
It's not about what your bike is worth. That is highly subjective. Go ahead and search craigslist for other bikes listed in the $1800-$2500 range. How your bike compares is very important. ScubaCinci
I never saw a link to the ad posted in the OP so I don't think that was his intent. Of course, he wouldn't take a pool table in trade so there must a few loose screws with that one...

I will say an item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. NADA can say all day what it's worth but that dosent pay any bills. In the end a 600cc bandit isn't a highly desirable bike.
