B-Mac
Once again the start of the 2018 Adventure & Off-Road season starts down in Tennessee. Some of the best riding for ADV Bikes and Off-Road single track. The on-site field events are fun as well. Looks like there are about 6-8 Adv-Ohio folks going down for some fun. I know we have the O.R. street epic trip but this is for the up and coming ADV riders that are lurking here with one foot in the door. Training classes available at this event. Also, bike rental from https://gsmmotorent.com/ Plenty of videos on youtube. JCMathis
I wish I would have checked in earlier to see this. It looks like a blast of a time.

Hi Jim, Since no big bikes planned on going and I have a 1000 mile ADV ride scheduled for late May I decided to get my L/shoulder operated on Mar 14th. I had some damage from changing my wife rear tire on the FKing Spyder last June. I had a full cuff tear and a Partial Biceps tear to fix plus the general old man maintenance of spurs and degenerative trash clean up. I am back to full range and almost no pain after day three. I have been to MMM three times and the weather was wet so I am now focused on my up coming ride. Riding south to Williamson, WV. and pick up the (KAT) south to Appalachia, VA. next going east to Damascus, VA. where we will pick up the (MABDR) Mid Atlantic Back-road Discovery Route North to Romney, WV. for a day at the Camp and ride event at Romney Cycle then return Home. Jim Did you pick up a NEW bike during the winter. So sorry no report/photo's from MMM B. Connie14
Is it a waste taking a dual sport to this event? I was planning on trailering down a KTM350 and an FZ1 down for this event, but work obligations prevented me from going. I was thinking I could ride with the KTM for most of the time, but I wanted to ride Cherohala and some other nearby roads on something sporty. Not at all, There is great single track and off road tracks all over the foothills. Each morning the smell of Klotz and Castrol R burning from 2-stroks makes me feel "Like... Victory". Great people to ride with from all over. They have ride leaders and routes posted for group rides of different skill levels in the Command and Control Trailer each day. Also great Big Bike Adventure Routes that are laid out over NC. TN. GA. Forrest roads, Two Track and you know the curvy asphalt they have. All GPX track and Routes are available to download for free. This year was wet with snow at elevation and rain.It is March.
JCMathis
I will be keeping an eye out for this event next year. Sounds like a great time for either bike.

Also another must do that's a little closer to Ohio is the Stolen Pig Rally. If you haven't road the Hatfield/McCoy are you are missing out. This is another balls out event. Something for all bikes. The (KAT) route go's thru this area. Both event have a lot of video's on the tube for review. http://www.therealmccoytrails.com/2018-stolen-pig-rally.html
jschaf
Brian, Surgery is no fun I know. Glad they got you fixed up & you're on the mend. No new bike yet. Working on replenishing the new bike cash which was unexpectedly spent on a replacement geothermal unit recently. Your posts here are motivational.
