Corvette tie-rod ends...need opinions

My Vette's got 65k miles on it, and now has a terrible high-speed (65-75mph) front end shimmy. Most owners I've talked to indicate it's the tie-rod ends. Simple enough fix...

Heres my problem:

Advance Auto Parts: TRW tie-rod, greasable (zerk-fitting), and lifetime warranty, $80 per side.

GM original: Delco tie-rod, non-greasable, 1yr warranty, $57.82 per side.

Now, I know TRW makes a great ANYTHING, but am I just paying for the warranty? Is there really an advantage going to the GM part? I just want to do it right the first time. Thanks! smile.gif

Hey will you go to work or something? BTW I got those hangers on.....my midpipe doesn't bang anymore. Don't worry about the shimmy, Ty doesn't go over 65 anyway so you won't notice.

I would try Vette Brake Products to see if they are anything better, or hit one of the CorvetteForum sponsors.

FYI, Mid America Corvette is having their spring swap meet I believe on April 2. There is a Corvette swap meet up in Lima this weekend; there might be some vendors with some new tie rods there. Unfortunately, I can’t go to either this year.
