98fiveseven1647545503
So I just spent the time doing pushrods on the car and I still have the "same" noise, it is just quieter now. Was told it is either pushrods (not any more) rockers, or lifters. Is there any for sure way to test rockers or to see if a lifter is collapsed? thanks in advanced paul
MrMeanGreen
I'll be working on the Firebird tomorrow. You're more than welcome to come by and I'll have a look at your car.
Boost-n-Juice
hydraulic lifters usually do not fail assuming the car has been well maintained (oil changes) and you do not have a huge cam, say over .525 lift. Is this a tapping noise? Or, more of a gargling noise, like a dieseling sound? The reason I ask is because I've heard the lt1's and ls1's can develop piston slap. MrMeanGreen
LS1s only had it. '01-02s had the #8 cylinder overbored from the factory. Some cars only make a little noise, some make a lot. There's a class-action lawsuit against GM since they will not warranty the problem due to "it's not a safety issue".
98fiveseven1647545503
what would the lawsuit mean for us LS1 owners? found out today it is a bad valve guide
