SquirrelyNutsDSP
Google is your friend. Sounds like an ECU/piggyback that changes your fuel map, boost levels and looks like a much more aggressive first gear from what I read. I like how Dodge sells it but doesn't warranty anything...actually very smart. tongue.gif
AngryBMW
Ryan, go to "how stuff works . com." It should be a very helpful web site with a lot of useful information. Glad to see you are modding the neon. Tell Drew to call me... -Marc

BloodRed
The PCM is your computer. It controls most of the electronics and sensors. The new PCM will help with the new air/fuel mixure so you can use that extra power with out hurting your engine. Also the stage upgrades do not void your warrenty. I don't know if the new parts are under warrenty, but it doesn't effect the warrenty on the rest of the car. Were did you take your car into to get it worked on? There is a fix and they can fix it at the dealership. The problem is if you fix it at the dealership, the problem can come back. There is a fix that will stop the oil leak for good. Dealerships are not doing this fix yet. Check out the other Neon and SRT-4 forums that I posted before. They do have the fix for you. If you need the websites for them again, let me know and I will get them to you.
Skinner
yes the PCM has new air/fuel maps and increases boost a bit. As for the oil leak to fix that all you need is oil catch can. do a search on srtforums I,m sure there are people that have done it on there. I know the one girl here at work has done it. but im not sure of the steps involve for the install.
HotCarl
If i remember correctly it actually replaces your factory ECU rather than acting as a piggy back. It also doesn't read the rear O2 sensor.

Razorback
The PCM basically is an input/output control module. It's plugged into everything electronic on the car that takes a reading. Your O2 sensors, MAF meter, sensors on the motor like knock sensors, throttle body opening, etc. etc. etc. (there are a lot, heh), and all it does is decide how much fuel to add in and how much timing to add or pull after considering what the O2 sensors are reading and how much air is coming in through the meter. It will also throw check engine codes depending on situations and how far sensors are reading out of specified ranges and the like. This is how the PCM on 4.6 Mustangs work. I can't speak for a Dodge as I've never owned one. Hope that helped with a basic explanation though.
