MrMeanGreen
As I posted last week, I started getting nowhere (literally) when driving Firebird Sr. around. Any throttle of 20% or more from a roll, even to change lanes, caused the RPMs to shoot up and the car to just rev. Not good. I finally got around to pulling the tranny pan yesterday morning, to find this: http://www.unleadedanalog.net/pics/transpan%20001.jpg http://www.unleadedanalog.net/pics/transpan%20003.jpg Not good I say. I have Chris look at it, and I describe to him the putty-type shit found in the pan and magnet on the drain plug. Sounds like the converter clutches, he says. Luckily, the STALL converter is under warranty for three more weeks and has a free re-stall available. It's getting shipped out tomorrow before I leave for Georgia for two weeks, so hopefully it will waiting for me when I get back. The converter already had all of the goodies from before, so I'll just have them beef it up a bit more and stall it a bit higher, probably the 3800-4000 range with a slight increase in stator from the 1.9 now to probably a 2.3 or so. Also, the transmission looks in excellent shape as does the fluid. However, I'm taking the time to have Berberich have at it again and beef it up more to hold the power I'm aiming at (see below). He did a helluva job two years ago, so he'll get my business again. http://www.unleadedanalog.net/pics/things%20001.jpg http://www.unleadedanalog.net/pics/things%20002.jpg That being said, I also have something else I need to install since I'll have everything apart. http://www.unleadedanalog.net/pics/things%20006.jpg The engine will also be coming out shortly for a forged buildup, the parts have already started being collected. I have a full winter ahead, and anyone is more than welcome to come by to gimme a hand or just sit around and bullshit around. Also, thanks goes out to Andrew (Lustalbert), Ben (Crash), Ryan (88fiveoh), and TJ (Old Dirty Bastard) for coming over for moral support tonight, and especially Andrew for staying over until 2am helping me remove the back half of the drivetrain

Hahahaha tards. we'll im pretty sure that most of us ASSUME anthony isn't a retard and buying a little ass turbo for his BUILT V8. and the nice choice thing goes to him switching from a supercharger to a turbo, at least that is how i took it. smokinHawk1647545499
that inducer looks small but its hard to tell without a point of reference. im gussing that its some semi turbo, brand im not sure. but if it was me id get a new one that would suit my application they have masterpowers for pretty cheap, a MP GT45 would do his car good for a good price. but who knows he could be pulling our leg on this whole thing and just found that in the trash so he took a picture, dunno. desperado
Well, figuring that fitting in the pic is someplace between 5/16 and 1/2 inch, the intake side of the turbo looks to be between 1.5 and 2.5 inches. Also the cardboard tab on the box, those are typically 1.5 to 2 inches wide on most boxes so the output of the compressor side looks to be 2 maybe 2.5 inches. now, if that fitting takes a 1/2 inch wrench, and it seems to be the same size as the nut holding the compressor turbine to the shaft, then the input is 1.5 to maybe 1.75 inches. All said and done, it's a small fucking turbo, But who am I to judge. maybe he is turboing his lawnmower. Figuring that he needs to attempt to impress us with his ricer comments about his "STALL" convertor, you the fuck am I to judge. http://carcraft.com/techarticles/80098/ http://www.summitracing.com/landing/mustang/ln_02feature.htm?ID=%7B82417BC5-2BB2-4CBA-88AC-2C8F6A37BBC8%7D&Type=5 http://www.edgeracingconverters.com/converter_basics.htm http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2000/09/converter/index2.shtml Four articles about TORQUE CONVERTORS, not one calling them a STALL or STALL convertor. So are you having War Su Gai, or the Garlic CHicken with that RICE???
Gergwheel1647545492
that is definetly not a semi turbo, they are large frame turbos and are HUGE! that is just your normal car turbo, like a holset, precision, masterpower. However, i think Brian is right, it is a VTEC turbo for sure.
desperado
The turbo is a holeset, it says is right on the compressor scroll, right at the big black greese mark. And a Semi turbo would have the intake outer diameter at about 6 inches.
