evan9381
im suprised no one has said anything about this yet. i was listening to the radio on the way into work yesterday and they said after the spring game (i believe) 2007, they will be putting in artificial turf into the horseshoe should make some better games

evan9381
i think it would have made the OSU michigan game more interesting. not interesting like michigan would have won, but interesting like we could have put A LOT more points on them really, we outperformed michigan in all aspects, but had a couple turnovers they took advantage of

RedRocket1647545505
Didn't I hear during the Michigan game that they just spent 1 million to have it re-sodded (sp?) ? What a way to waste some money. Though I could care either way what kind of carpeting they use.
evan9381
i thought it was 100k. i know they said the turf would run about 600k and im pretty sure i was listening to the radio a while back when they were talking about OSU saying they bring in a little over 100 mil / yr on sports alone, and they spend about 25 mil. i could be wrong, but if im right, 75m$ surplus would be pocket change for turf for the #1 team in the country O-H
mmrmnhrm
Is this the "next generation" astroturf type stuff, that's still totally synthetic, but has the plastic grass blade and stuff so you wear cleats and such just like regular grass, but don't have to mow it? Jackson1647545504
We knew Tressel wanted it and he'll get it. Doesn't bother me either way. and the reason why .... Ohio Stadium with field turf could host all of the Ohio high school state championship games. That makes for one hell of a recruiting tool. There is a theory that if Ohio State can lockup all of the top players from Ohio each year ... hello consecutive national championships
