zeitgeist57
I envy Columbus and its affordable real estate. Doug, you can pick up McMansions outside of Detroit for less than $200k. I've got a buddy buying blue-collar neighborhood houses in foreclosure for less than $35k a house.
turbomark
Imo buying real estate in detroit is akin to buying a sinking ship.

I've got a buddy buying blue-collar neighborhood houses in foreclosure for less than $35k a house. BS. unless you want to live in a crack house. 180k here gets you a 50 year old, 1 bth., 1000 sq ft. POS. In a crappy ass neighborhood. If I was in Columbus I could get into a decent M/I home for that.... Anything I'd remotely consider living in here is $220k+. I'm not Bob Villa and I'm looking for something that doesn't need work. Anything in foreclosure here is usually a tear-down IMO.
