Science Abuse
disproportionately large fangs on that one. Not sure what it is, but I've seen many of them. May be a juvenile something.

As long as you don't piss it off it won't bite you. That's not what it is. It is a Woodlouse spider or Dysdera crocata. These particular spiders are pretty common in the woods under old logs, etc. due to their diet of wood lice and similar insects - also why they have such large jaws; to pierce their prey. Their colors may vary a bit, but that's the one. Here's a link. http://spiders.entomology.wisc.edu/Dysderidae/Dysdera_crocata/index.html
morabu
that's one menacing looking spider, compared to my pics thank goodness it's a dead spider thanks for the info though
Maro
If you can get past their looks... most spiders are helpful in ridding pests and other nusiance insects.
ImUrOBGYN
Their main meals are what it's eating in the picture I posted. A specie of wood louse or what I used to call "rolly polly". They need the large jaws to pierce the armor of those insects. The spiders themselves aren't too big. It could probably deliver a good bite on a human, but it wouldn't be any worse than any other regular spider. Unless, you're allergic, of course.
