cptn janks
so my girl has an 01 civic, and the battery died in it last week, and ever since the radio says CODE. the radio is not the original for the car, so god only knows where the card with the code on it is. she had a cassette unit, and bought a CD unit on ebay. cursory internet searches seem to all say take it to the dealer? true? ideas? ODoyle
you can just take the radio to the dealer and they can write the code on the side of the radio like 360iroc said i had to do it with the landrover i had
Dave1647545494
i'd pull the radio out first and see if the code isn't already on it.....

ODoyle
Why would the code be on the radio if its an anti theft code?
cptn janks
got it! heres what i did, and what i suggest anyone else with this problem do: 1. turned the radio off. held down 1 and 6 and turned it back on. it gives you a 10 digit number. write this down. 2. call honda at 1800-999-1009 and choose option 5. 3. talk to the nice person who answers the phone, give them the 10 digits and they give you the radio code. took about 5 minutes total. the dealership she went to said it would be an hour of labor and cost 75 dollars. assholes.
