Fuel Cost Per Vehicle

they are based on the new testing vs old which we all knew were way high. however, we all know, especially with folks on CR, that the driver determines MPG's more than anything.

I know for sure I can make a prius suck ass in the mpg department :o My GXP gets the best mpg's when my wife drives it, certainly not me. :D

I think those mpg estimates are a bit low.

it's actually fairly close on me... my car's computer says that I'm averaging 27.7 mpg, and it's saying 27.5 but something is messed up on it, because it's saying I get 450 on a tank of gas and right now my car is over 500 on this tank and I have 1/4 left? Nissan says that my car will do 680 if I drive all freeway...(which is most of my driving) kinda weird that they show lower numbers.

My `94 Corolla's numbers are accurate, but I idle it 2 hours per day (not in traffic) and run the AC 100% of the time so the MPG should probably be higher since I found that I probably waste 2 gallons a day idling. No I don't pay for my gas:-)

The numbers seemed pretty accurate for the MR2, about 29 mpg. Of course, it gets a lot worse than that when beating the shit out of it, but normal every day driving it does pretty well. One tank usually lasts me about 2 weeks, roughly $25 a tank for a fill of low octane.

The new EPA estimate is way low with a 12/15 & 13 combined. Even when lead footing it, mine has never seen that low. And my Avalanche is get's the 2nd worst mileage as a model of all 1500 Avalanches made (03+ get slightly better, mine has all options = heavier + roof rack = more wind drag). Only thing worse is if mine had the 4.10 gears instead of the 3.73's.

The 13/18 & 15.6 combined from 4 people entering in is more accurate. That's pretty much what I get...maybe 18.5-19 on the freeway.
