wnaplay1647545503
Bike started and was running fine. Then shut off at stop light. Ive had issue in the past but thought they were all worked out. Now it wont start. Wires coming off stator were very hot. It might be time to get another bike. Any suggestions on what to check? Dave1647545494
just a thought but you didn't run out of gas did you? check for spark and fuel then go from there
wnaplay1647545503
just a thought but you didn't run out of gas did you? check for spark and fuel then go from there Pleanty of gas. I will tear it apart and see if anything is shorting out. I put it on the charger and it runs fine. The next time I go to take it out, is usually when I have problems. Anyway to test the stator is putting out power?
Acec
What about the regulator/rectifier ? they seem to have alot of them on ebay for the cbr's .... My wires off of my Alternator get hot too , following them to my R/R and it is usually where the wires are the hottest along with the R/R. wnaplay1647545503
Not sure, what it is. Any way to test the rectifier? I have a spare but not sure if it is any good either.

Not sure , i will have to check my manual for my 87 , but if you got another one try it out. If the wires on the stator got too hot you might want to make sure the wires are still good and not melted together shorting out before trying it though....
