System Administrator - ERP Environments/Applications

 

Pay Grade- Base Salary Band 34-$53,196

Administer virtualized UNIX based server environments (primarily AIX).

 

Administers Apache Tomcat / Java virtual machines.

 

Administers Datatel Colleague application (on Unix/Oracle).

 

Responds to Help Desk tickets and perform level II end-user support. Coordinates technical support with vendors as needed.

 

Perform system maintenance at the operating system and ERP application level, including but not limited to: Analysis and resolving problems associated with server hardware, Unix Operating System, and applications software. Detects, diagnoses, and solves problems on ERP servers.

 

Coordinates system operations with DBAs, Security, SAN and Network administrators.

 

Coordinates and installs software patches on a regular schedule.

 

Maintains system and data integrity and security.

 

Monitors system and application performance to ensure optimal operation. Collects and analyzes computer performance and usage data.

 

Plans for capacity and performance improvements to meet business requirements.

 

Generates reports on hardware capacities to inform when hardware is approaching capacity and should be upgraded or replaced.

 

Develops, implements and tests disaster recovery plan for assigned equipment and software. Ensures procedures for data recovery are adequately documented and proper preventive steps are taken to avoid a disaster recovery scenario.

 

Evaluates and recommends new software and hardware, and develops implementation schedule of recommended purchases.

 

Maintains confidentiality of sensitive data and other information, complies with all regulatory and policy/procedure requirements.

 

Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance. Works overtime as required to meet workload demands.

 

Performs other assigned duties as required.

Required education/experience: An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Minimum qualifications for this position are: Associate's Degree in Computer Science and 3 to 5 years experience in managing ERP environment administration or a closely related field.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: UNIX operating systems (AIX, Linux), ERP environment system administration, disaster recovery, capacity planning.

 

Ability to: work independently; coordinate multiple tasks and activities; develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, supervisors, job contacts, and general public; maintain confidential and sensitive information.

 

Skill in: verbal and written communications; working with detailed data; application of job software; operation of UNIX operating systems and environment. System administration of ERP applications.
