Working with Derek to pick up a nice yet inexpensive set of wheels for my winter set up. These can be had for about $99ea.

 

What are your thoughts on these....rough photo-chop, but you get the picture...pun intended.

I can dig it. Why not buy nice wheels and use the stockers as winter rims?

stockers are 18's and not the best for winter rubber.

 

i'd think he might buy cheap 17" winter setup, sell the stockers and go aftermarket 18's with teh stock tires.... but i could be wrong.

However, the stock wheels aren't that bad looking...just a bit heavy given the number of spokes. Overall, they designate the look of the car fairly well among those that do know.

I like them but you should probably get all 4 wheels.

Are those 99 dollar wheels going to be any lighter than the stock wheels? I really like your stock rims on your car but if you want to change i vote keep looking.

not sure about weight, but two things....one: they are for winter, two: they have to weigh less than the stockers....they are about 24lbs ea.

Looks like a good deal to me. I guess from the pic they are clear coated? Def better for winter, hose them off a few times a week and should last a while.

I don't like those wheels with the White pearl. They look almost like chrome which is a definite no in most cases. $99/wheel is cheap though....

DAMMIT! How many of you (and I'm aware this is an invite for everyon to do it, now. lol) are going to prove your ignorance? He's already stated he doesn't believe the 18's lend themselves to winter driving. I believe he feels it's worth it just to get some decent looking winter wheels so he can pimp then, as well. Pimping is a full-time job.

Don't misunderstand, I'm not knocking the wheels at all, but when I am slinging 2tons of car around and triple-digiting these huge beasts around I only trust the OEM/Forged or aftermarket forged wheels. Only exceptions are the hartmann/vm wheels which have been used/tested.

you do understand that before a wheel company can sell a wheel it goes through way more rigorous tests than your 4,000 lb sled would ever put a wheel through...right?
