TimTaylor751647545500
Picked up Terron's '76 CB750 SS today in hopes of transforming it into a nice Cafe Racer. This is the end result that I'm shooting for. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/CB750/1399039834.jpg Here's what she looked like before I got my mitts on her. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3569/3486650383_0d8d704254_o.jpg First thing I did was pull off the Easy Rider rear seat and removed the rear fender. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/CB750/DSC00620.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/TimTaylor75/CB750/DSC00621.jpg I have quite a few irons in the fire right now, but I'm hoping to get her running to where I can at least get some riding in. I'm thinking that most of the more major changes will come during the off season. Stay tuned.

eBell
I've got a buddy doing a similar project. Has a first attempt carbon\kevlar seat pan he might be willing to sell for a fair price. Not the prettiest thing, hence first attempt, but a layer of paint will fix that and it is very light and strong.

SPL_Josh
are you going to do the gs/gsxr wheels like the other pic 2 front rotors=win
zeitgeist57
2 front rotors=win +1. I noticed that your '76 lacks the dual front's the later ('79s+) had. Though...for the price you bought the bike at, combined with the limited amount of racing you're likely to do, a single front rotor should be just fine. Be sure to replace the tires with RWL (raised white lettered) tires, like Dunlops  http://www.motorbike-search-engine.co.uk/classic_bikes/1975-cb750.jpg

I'm planning on heading to Vintage Days at Mid Ohio at the end of July to snag some parts and check out some other Cafes.

Ramsey
For the price you paid for that bike and the options that are avail to make that thing so bad ass, it makes me want to do the same. How do they ride? Would they be a good first timers attempt at bikes?
Hwilli1647545487
Mine will be cooler. I tried to buy that bike for parts, but you beat me too it .
ponyjr1647545514
They make pretty good starter bikes, except for the weight. The power is manageable and handle well unless pushed, then the aftermarket steps in.
BugeyeTy
Its got potential. Hows the inside of the tank?
TimTaylor751647545500
The tank isn't in the best of shape. There's a pretty good crease in the right side, so I'm not certain whether I'll even use this one. Edited May 6, 2009 by TimTaylor75
