Kevin R.
I was going to say waterpump, which are also a delight. Norsthstars make pretty good power imo, but they are just as bad as Subarus for head gaskets. Waterpump is fine because it is shooting coolant out of the engine. FourString
I will add, stay away. A friend's mom had one for a while. She went through 2 motors the entire time she owned it (~8 years). When the 2nd motor started knocking, she sold it. The car seemed to always be in the shop. It was comfy though
Crossle
but those are cake and pay awesome. For whatever reason American cars and i do not get along. I do not find them to be easy, I do know of their pay and I suppose if you do them all of the time they are easier, but i personally have done 1 and that is all I want to do thanks lol. Crossle
you must not have had the socket I know I don't, but I also know that my boss has me do things for the first time the hard way then introduces the easy tools, so maybe we do, but I haven't had to do one since. armin922
ok thanks for all ur imputs. But, what if the car has been serviced with new head gaskets and the common problems you have all told me about? Still stay away? She needs a reliable car because shes moving to NC for 10 months and she has about 1500 bucks saved up. Or does anyone have any good deals or know of anyone selling something in this pricerange easy to fix and reliable?
kirks5oh
NO!!! she needs a well-maintained 4 cylinder econobox---period, the end. not an american land-barge, that will end up costing more in the end (when you factor in extra gas, and maintainence), compared with a $2300 civic. that's my advice. you can service a piece of shit with head-gaskets, water pumps, oil changes, etc, but at the end of the day its still a piece of shit. 93toNV
Tauri are all gay. Especially SHO's. LOL Damn yous!!!!! :finger: You leave the SHO alone right now! But in all seriousness, Northstars are a nightmare and as soon as I read the topic of your post "head gaskets" immediately popped into my head. Trust me you can pic up a taurus, cavalier, escort or civic for like $1500 and have it save you on gas and be 1000x more reliable than that caddy. Good luck sir, and remember...just say no!
