Cordell
Damn that's cool, I've seen similar stuff but not the ETC for a LT1.
Jackson1647545504
I'm happy with my setup <shrug> http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2475/3828522904_4a05540115.jpg
wagner
Umm wow that could be epic. I am going to keep an eye on this for the 94 Z28
Billiumss
I talked to the owner of that company in detail a few months ago. Great idea but the cost is killer. From what I'm told the guy doesn't make that much $$$ off of each kit. The guy lives in my old hometown of Erie, PA
Guest Removed
yeah whats the price tag on that shit... little more money you could just swap in a ls1 and be done with it
ls1plus
Good idea. Still a bitch to work on!
Rally Pat
Thats nice...but Megasquirt has been doing this for years...for a hell of a lot less too.
Dave1647545494
thats a nice kit be good for street rods and stuff too and if megasquirt makes a kit that lets you run coil on plug with an ls1 pcm for an lt1 I'm a fighter pilot.... megasquirt is nice if your a cheapass but it doesn't come near the driveability you get with oem electronics
Rally Pat
megasquirt is nice if your a cheapass but it doesn't come near the driveability you get with oem electronics Actually, there are lots of daily drivers that are powered by Megasquirt. Grassroots Motorsports just did an article where they converted a GSL-SE RX-7 to Megasquirt and tuned it for much better gas mileage at crusing speeds, and more HP when the hammer is put down. I'm still laughing at people that INSIST that their OEM bullshit is somehow superior.
85 Z-28
I run a megasquirt on my camaro and it works well the ecm is limited by the programmer (aka you the tuner)
RUTAN TA1647545492
I have played around with megasquirt and it works well but if it was better and more reliable than a GM PCM i think everyone would use them. For instance will megasquirt control your automatic transmission? Im not putting megasquirt down at all because i think its a good alternative when your limited by factory ecm's. gillbot
Yep. Yes it will, I think the main problem with megasquirt is people don't understand what all it CAN do.
rl
It's a great ALTERNATIVE, but comparing it to a OEM control system they you have 100% control of, like a GM PCM, is a joke.
Nitrousbird
I'd love to know the price of this new setup. I would venture to guess it is VERY expensive. I will be sticking with my Opti/LT1 PCM, thanks.
Cordell
As much freedom that there is in late model GM PCMs there really no major benefit to running Megasquirt. The older stuff is a totally different story.

Rally Pat
Huh? Basic box? WTF are you talking about?
Brandon
We did an LS1 coil conversion on the Lt1 car we had here, it wasn't all that bad, but its a few grand for certain.
