TTQ B4U
no shit tim. i agree completely. and the people will go broke cause they will gamble is a bs arguement. if people cant manage money they cant manage money plain and simple. also you cant tell me every position filled will all come from out of state. You don't give an alcoholic a drink and say it's his fault if he dies. Facts are facts. Six of the counties with the highest bankruptcy rates in the nation are located near the ten riverboat casinos in Mississippi. Iowa counties are suffering too. Ones with a casino, racetrack or riverboat, have a bankruptcy rate 21 percent higher than the average of the entire state. Nearly 90% of habitual gamblers commit crimes to pay their debts, including stealing from employers and family. They also among the highest percentage to commit credit card and insurance fraud and tax evasion. These facts are regularly stated in my wife's CEC classes regarding bankruptcy. gillbot
So wait, what you are saying is WV was a clean, respectable place, and wasnt the butt of all jokes before casinos came? Well, as I said it was a dump before, now it's a flat out shithole with no hopes of recovery. my .02 Giving people more access to gamble will in the long run make matters worse. I would assume the demographics for gambling is like the lottery. The casinos will market to the hopes of the poor for a big pay off. Therefore the largest segment of their customers will come from the poor to lower middle class. Therefore casino's are kind of a back door tax on the poor. Exactly.
