John Bruh
With all the ccw talk here lately, and the fact that i still havent done this yet made me bring this up. Where is the best place $ and quality wise to get the course taken? things that would make the quality good. -good instructor -range on site -price including ammo if using a range gun. -1 day or 1 weekend class. (not spread out as with my work i cannot do)
verse
Best place? Or most cost effective? I've heard from reviews and people I work with that TDI is one. If you take their handgun I-III it exceeded the training needed. I kind of wish I took mine there, but I plan on taking the courses soon. tdiohio.com

Guest Hal
I did mine at NASR. Not the cheapest, but everything was included and it was convenient for me. The instructor was good but the same cannot be said about most of the students.

I have herd from multiple people that they dont really train or anything when you take your test they just make sure you know how to opperate a gun and not kill someone and that is about it.. You have to take the course in order to obtain the certificate to apply for the license. And anyways while I/or anyone else taking the class its good training and im sure i will learn something that i did not know, especially a lot of the laws. LJ
where does she teach the class and what range? At her house in Alexandria on her own private range. She does a lot of move and shoot type things and target recognition. It's basically the first day of TDI Handgun. Also we were lucky to have Ken Hansen come in and speak to us about the laws. I will honestly say that there probably isn't an instructor in Ohio who knows more about the laws here than Linda because, well, she basically wrote them. cinergi
I have to call a huge NEGATIVE on this one. I've never met a more unprofessional, or untrained teacher. I used to try to help her out when she first got her NRA instructor's license. She had awful problems trying to help beginning shooters overcome fears and get them on the fast track to proper fundamentals. She is a nice lady, but I don't know how she makes it as an instructor... Linda Walker- On The Defense $150 1 day class, breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided. Her knowledge of gun laws IS vast, but again I cannot give her kudos for her instruction abilities. She was so dangerous at one point at NASR that we had to make her leave. She then was found at Black Wing. Hopefully things have changed for her, as this was 4-5 years ago.

Clint does most of the hands on. She barely did anything at the range besides vocal instruction. He is also a certified instructor. I should have been more clear on this. Her class is great, and Clint's range time is also great. I believe he has been certified in every TDI handgun class. Edit: and of course the BWCC vs Blackwing feud goes on. BloodRed
anyone want to get a group together for a discounted rate? I was just thinking the same thing. I would be down for this as well. I am sure we could get a good sized group from the CR to get them. My wife may join in for the training as well.
