Hello all,

I have lived in Grandview most of my life (about 2 miles out of high st.) but recently moved to pickerington. I drive a '98 audi a4 1.8t quattro in pearl. Yes, my car is mostly stock, but in the spring I'll be doing some work such as chipping it, doing the exhaust, suspension, and possibly a bigger turbo.

Last year I met a few people at the Bed bath beyond in polaris, but cant remember any names lol..

I've been pretty active on the audi forums lately, but unfortunately everyone there lives in either cali or texas. So its not good for anything but talking.

I'm here to talk about cars, racing, tuning, and the like.

Anyways... heres my car...

My Subaru will kill you. My Lib Tech will thrash you.

You must be driving that car in Canada a lot with that 4" lift kit on there.

Kidding on the Suby and Lib Tech. I won't thread jack this. Look for my post on playing in the snow, soon to come.

Welcome.

Welcome, nice car and great color

Get e-codes not Depo's...and PLEASE get a drop on that thing.

Andy

e-code makes good projectors, but i havent seen a good set of halos for cheap that are prefacelift. If you have a link deff lemme know!

I was also gonna buy the depo's cuz i can get them with an 8000k xenon conversion built in.

welcome,

8000k is too gay, its purple. you want between 4500k and 6000k honestly, 6000k is bluish white, slightly bluer that factory hid's on cars. which are usually around 5200k. obviously the lower the number the whiter and then yellow the light. 8000k projects MUCH less light output than even 6000k and is honestly purple and completely FAKE. You want the coolness of hid's fine, but do yourself a favor and get one that IMPROVES your quality of vision as well as looks classy, not ricerish and is noticeable by everyone.

just my .02

Well thanks for the flame of knowledge. But i've always heard that 6000k was pure white and then the 8000k was blue-white. Thats what i was looking for. I was NOT looking for ricer blue or purple. Just a little bit of a blue.

One of my friends on audiforums has 8000k and it looks perfect.

I could be wrong but if anyone else has an opinion feel free!

my research ...

2- Why don't you have kits that have a high temperature color like 8000K?

Light coverage drastically decrease after ~6000K. At 8000K you will get a special look but will practically won't see anything while driving. We won't sell products that can be dangerous to you. If you still want higher K rated bulbs we can get them but by special order only.

6000k's

gl in your search, its your car do what you want, just dont want you to get something and not like it and waste your money.

haha i was playing with you. but i wasnt being sarcastic. If it really is the case that 8000k is overly blue to purple then I wouldnt want them.

The hids on my car are 6k lows and 8k highs and the highs are twice or more brighter than the 6ks.

I had 6k HID's on my GTP and there was almost no blue at all, they were a very crisp white. A couple friends have 8k and they are bluish-white, not purple. 10k and higher is where the purple comes in.

Oh, and welcome to CR
